It has nothing to do with P and everything to do with the fact that this forum is declining more and more as a whole every year. We were seriously better back in 2014 when we were winning 25 games and Arambone was running amok.

Somehow, the more competitive this team has gotten, the worse this forum has become. And it's not because we have had an influx of more fans, either. It's the same people. As a matter of fact, a lot of the top posters we have had over the years have left (come back Marley and Fruit Pastilles), and lot of other really good posters who were once regulars now only make cameos every now and then (I miss you, 2Mas and GreenBloodedC).

It's funny. We would all make fun of the Raptors forum over the years, but now we are worse and I don't even think it is remotely close.

This forum has disintegrated into a cesspool, and Cave of all people (the best poster on this forum regardless of what people want to believe) getting banned is emblematic of just how toxic this forum has become.

I think the Raptors board is still great when I read it.

But it does have every type of poster in huge quantities.

This board lacks any complete sense of humor compared to theirs. They make memes, funny posters, make fun of their team, coach, fans.

We have far too many extremists on this board. Every statement is considered inflammatory it seems and everyone is a zealot.

It's still Boston, I guess the comedians left in this city a long time ago but where did our humor go? At the very least our dark humor... that was our trademark.

I don't think it has to do with humor as much as it has to do with division.

There are no jokes being made around here. Just a whole lot of crap.

Yeah that's kind of what I meant. I can't recall the last time I read a joke on this forum.

On second thought I guess CHL's posts sort of are when he's bashing his own country. Kind of in the same vein as Cfan's trade proposal forums.

I would like to see the forum have more fun and have some more jokes going. Maybe some friendly light criticisms of our players or other players we're facing. Idk. It happens regularly on the Raptors board and I think that helps them relieve the pressure because again every type of poster you can think of they have in endless range from zealots to self hating fans. At least there are jokes made as well to break the tension.

I'm don't want to speak for Cave and I doubt he had any of this in mind with Jakeopp, but the real issue in what happened a few pages back is that you have guys on here that are apparently allowed to spew sexist sludge if they pass it off as "their opinion/take".

In fairness to Viper I wouldn't have called his POV sexist sludge. He was just a slight bit sexist and looking for an excuse to get triggered. Cave, as usual, got triggered by Viper getting triggered. Parl gave Cave ample warning before the ban, and then proceeded to hold his ground.

It'd be cool to have Cave around for this month, but no issues here. I'm surprised that so many posters are willing to put Parl under scrutiny.

Parl is my Cambridge chess brother. Privately recommended him for a mod position to Howard/our mods like four years ago. No issue here with him at all.

Sometimes it’s more fun to be a fan when the team is losing - stakes are low, and there are more scenarios to imagine where the team gets better. This season has been frustrating for everyone - we thought we’d build on last year and have a Milwaukee-style run based on great defense and selfless ball movement, with Hayward healthy. Then SAC would give us a top 8 pick, and we’d follow up with a trade for Davis. Instead, it’s not clear what to do if the FO ends up hitting a fly ball with the bases loaded..

Maybe everybody take a couple of days off like we’re recovering from one of Danny’s heart attacks? The drama is high

Cave has strong opinions and he’s frequently/mostly right, but he likes to rub it in. It’s not hard to get blocked or banned on the internet.. Twitter makes this board look like a Hallmark movie

We gotta team up a bit guys. Dont be too harsh on eachother, we’re supposed to be on the same side, in the end. Not that I dont like some diversity here and there. Not at all. Mods are here to do their job. As everyone knows Cave’s a great poster but he can also sometimes just cross the line a bit too far. It’s also totally part of his identity so I’m cool with it but I can understand people having difficulties with it also. I’m glad he’s not perma banned. Now onto a new chapter guys. Our resurection starts now, or how do you say it in proper English lol?

Any non Celtics team that beat a Lakers that had a legit shot at a title is very likable to me so I like rooting for Detroit in late 80's after they beat Boston, Jordan's first title, Detroit in 2004 et cetera and Dirk's Mavs. Yes, I was even rooting hard for the 76ers in 83.

I don't pretend to know them at all but from an outsiders perspective Manu, Danny Green and David Robinson were the 3 spurs I have liked the most.

Magic has always come off as really clowny to me. He was a great b-ball player, but I'm impressed that he was able to become so rich doing businesses. He's somewhat of a man child.
Good assessment:

Things seem to be going well with the Lakers. Well run organization built on a foundation of trust and respect. Hot free agent destination I'm told.

Same here. That was a beautiful style of basketball that they played. All the better that they mopped the floor with the iso heavy Heat. I hate iso ball.

Meyers Leonard got 25 in the first half and crowd is chanting his name. Dude might go for 50 tonight (30 something more likely).

And despite that GS only going to be down 4 points at the half thanks to Steph also going for 25. On *9* shots. Gotdammit.

There's MVP level players in this league: LeBron (probably still), Greek Freak, Kawhi

Then there are MVP level players who are efficiency Gods in Curry and Durant.

True Shooting Percentage on volume is our new king of differentiation.

Hate Green but I like the Warriors without Durant.. if rumor of KD being out for the majority of the finals is true, I hope Steph gets his finals MVP. Dude deserves it..he is a beast.
