This is odd to hear again, this is the same argument I kept hearing 2 seasons ago on A.Wiggins before he got his max contract(and with him coming off a 23 ppg season), at that time he showed little to no improvement on his game, you know, much like Simmons and Simmons, much like Wiggins will get paid the max based on their "potential". If you can get a great player in their prime for Simmons DO IT and solidify your future instead of rolling the dice because sometimes you end up really hurting your franchise. Your timeline is Embiid and you're "hoping" Simmons becomes good enough next to him to have his own timeline for the franchise.
