Vleet is one of the worst playoff "shooters" nba has ever seen . Not only that he is career 33% FG shooter in playoffs, this year he took it to another level being 25% FG shooter and 19% three point shooter.
4-20 vs Bucks FG
3- 24 vs Philly
LIke, Nurse, dude you have Jeremy Lin there, if he shoots blindfolded with his worst foot , only half court shots, results probably won't be any worst than Vleet's bricks.

What about his defense?

he was one bandied about last year that I did not believe in and want on the team. had been a decent looking backup PG at the time that people thought could come in to be a starter and he has looked horrible with his new contract.

Yea , i mean some of us said he is like DJ Augustin, now even that seems to be overhype.
His regular season wasn't that bad , but in playoffs... oh boy. For second year in a row he has negative win share

Brook played same role on Nets and Lakers, sucked because there was no Bledose, Giannis, Middleton, Mirotić, Brogdon, Hill, Ilyasova to take adventage of it.
And was an all-star as a low post player that couldn't take his team anywhere... sounds very familiar... and I don't want to blow a huge chunk of our cap space on that
Why do you expect 1 player to take you anywhere at this point ,when for last 30 yeras you need at least 2 HOF players to win it all, and in last 7 years you need 3 stars to win it all?
It's like saying team led by PG will never get you anywhere and you have Westbrook, Wall,Conley Paul to prove it.
Even Curry plays more like SG than PG anyway. Through his career he literally has games where he has 2 assists in 40 min because he is not playmaker but guy who comes off screens and sets plays from there, but primarily is more shooter than playmaker.
LOpez and Marc Gasol have huge roles in this ECF mostly because of them can't really leave paint to guard each other because Leonard and GIannis would take adventage of no rim protection. But still, they are useful player to have. Can they be lead stars on contender ? No, but nowdays only like 5 players can.
How much does Lopez make in his huge role?
Please don't compare Vuc to Gasol.

$3,8 M
Guy flat out said it that he signed for Bucks because East was open and he thought that's his best chance.
That's same guy who made $22 640 000 last year and total of $114 000 000 in his career.
At some point, when you are 30 and you have made more money than GDP of some countries, you won't evaluate money that high on lisk of your priorities. Horford pretty much said same, that he will take much less money to help Celtics.
Some players actually care about winning, where others say they do, but prefer that $35M instad (Chris Paul )

Like I said in another thread, I don't expect Vuc back. He deserves to get paid as much as he can and we're in no position to give him that kind of contract.

Some props to Warriors, Curry Klay and Green in particular.
They whooped Blazers
Curry 36,5 ppg, 8,3 rpg , 7,3 apg ,47% FG ,42% for 3, 94,5% FTs in this series
5 games in a row with 30+ points in playoffs
Green is different man with less weight, guy plays best defense of his life.

Frank seems like a nice guy, which will probably make it harder for him coaching in this current dumpster fire of an organization.

Lillard about to sign the Super Max !
4 years 191 million ! Gotta do it if you’re the Blazers I guess. It’s nice to have a guy on your roster that is considered worthy of the Super Max but it is so debilitating when you roster a Super Max guy and you’re still not good enough to win the Championship.

If he was on the Magic, fans here would be screaming to trade Lillard while his value high so we can tank for the next Lillard.

yeah, how did Orlando ever figure out that McGrady was going to blow up. Or Jermaine Oneal. you scour other teams to see if a player might have ability but be in a bad situation.
Instead of crapping on other peoples ideas all the time, why not propose your own players that fit this bill?

Danny Green. Fits wingspan agenda. Great shooter, would make Evan expendable.
Bojan Bogdanovic- super effective scorer and spot up shooter.
JJ Redick - stick him off bench, give him 20 min, let him come of hornes and double screens. bullseye. At this stage better value for money than Ross and his projected $ 12-14M a year
Rudy Gay. Can start him. Can play him off bench. Gives you lenght , size, outside shot and ability to play smallball.
Ariza, off bench for right price still better value than Iwundu. Can start him if needed.
Jeremy Lamb- younger Ross.
Taj Gipson - should be cheap, gives you respectful veteran. PF backup is position of need anyway.
Wes Matthews- older vet, just like Taj, should give you vet presence.
KCP- at times solid defender, at times solid shooter. would not break bank for him ,but still solid player for right price.
Rodney Hood- should be cost effective Ross replacment.
Wayne Elington- same as Hood.
DeMarre Carroll - cost effective vet.
You have to understand two things:
- this is bad free agency
- you don't have much money to spend
In that situation it's better to not do anything crazy than spend $15-20 M for Suns part time starter Kelly Oubre or Celtics full time clown Terry Rozier .
or last year, pay Vleet $9M to guy who is worst version of Dj Augustin, but, just like Biyombo, looks more "sexy" when he does something in playoffs.
Magic are in positoin where exploring trade value of guys like Bogdan Bogdanovic ( Kings one), Lavine, Malik Beasley or Brogdon (or even George Hill as cheaper version ) makes more sense than flat out chasing Vuc and Ross replacments. Most of FA are 25+ years old , ones who are yougner are UFA because they probably sucked or still suck.
