I don´t really like Ryan´s hire. But the fact that Rosas and him had personal interviews during the Rosas´hiring process, makes me think that he knew he probably would end up having to promote Ryan to fulltime headcoach. And yet, Rosas accepted the POBO job. Which means that he knows what he´s doing, which means that this is a calculated risk. And that makes me feel relieved.

If it doesn´t work, in a year, Rosas will be able to fire Ryan without angering Kat or Taylor. And he will have all the right and freedom to hire whoever he considers is best for the job. And until then, the team gains cohesion and togetherness, the players start to learn a playing system supervised by Rosas himself, and the team starts running as it should.

But it will be Ryan's system. So if he's fired after one year, another coach, another "system."

Rosas said that he will work with the coaches (and the entire ftanchise) to build an identity and the way the Wolves will play. If Ryan´s performance is not good and Rosas seeks for a new headcoach, the new headcoach will be one that shares his vision. Therefore, a change of coach shouldn´t be traumatic.

It shouldn't be, but if you read what Towns said, he would like to know who his coach is long term, and he's tired of not knowing. Day to day and a new coach each year doesn't help Towns long term.

FInally get to move from the coaching drama ... We need to focus on a serviceable draft pick and maybe swap some spit in smaller trade/deal or two. The biggest wild card out there is the PG position (3 PG's with 3 different styles), and from there, the need for interior defense and 3-pt shooting. We dont need an overhaul, but we do need to attempt to make some moves to modernize our roster.

Ryan said that he values the success of this franchise more than his personal success. Also Rosas said why they conducted all interviews with HC candidates. I guess it should clean up all insinuations about our new HC and POBO.

Get ready for the new start!

That´s one of the reasons why Ryan has been given the head coach position. But obviously, if it doesn´t go well, a change will be necessary.

I don't understand your Saunders hate. The guy was doing basketball x's and o's with his dad since age 10. He spent over 10 years as an nba assistant performing every duty one can do including game planning for upcoming opponents. He also has been a nba coach for 42 games and did a very good job under difficult circumstances. None of the guys Rosas interviewed has ever head coached any nba team. He is highly respected around the nba by the elite. Jim Pete thinks he did a great job last year so who should I trust? Should I trust the opinion of KGdaBom or Jim Pete and Gersson Rosas?

I've said it until I'm blue in the face. He doesn't have appropriate credentials to even be considered for a head coaching position. Even getting a lead assistant position or associate head coach position is questionable. Sure he has interim head coaching experience that was given to him. There is no evidence that he did a good job whatsoever in his interim gig. The team played terribly and yes I know injuries affected that. As for who's opinion you should trust I think I'm smarter than Pete. I would have thought Rosas was smarter than me, but I doubt that now as he resigned Saunders. As for the vote WTH does that show. A bunch of rubes want to keep Flip's kid around.

You have chosen wrong team, wrong franchise player who you hate, wrong HC who you hate, and wrong POBO who you hate. Oh, and lets not forget about owner, who you also hate

Flip started his coaching career at a very young age as well (26) but he had to earn his way through the ranks in JUCO, at the U, in the CBA and then finally many years in the NBA. I don't think it's unreasonable to question the hire or Ryan's coaching credentials but I'm willing to see what he can do. My guess is if it's a disaster in 2019/20, Rosas will cut bait and go another direction.

You could hardly be more wrong. I love the Wolves. I love KAT. I don't hate Saunders one tiny bit. I hate that he is the coach of the Wolves, because he is so underqualified. I don't hate Rosas I am just incredibly disappointed in him for hiring Saunders. I don't hate Glen. He saved the Wolves for Minnesota. I just hate that he always buts in on things he doesn't understand. I will get over my nausea before the end of the day and watch the clip. I might eventually get sucked into accepting Ryan as our coach from all the smoke about him being blown my way by people like you.
Seriously though just looking at his face right now gets me mildly, not violently, but mildly sick to my stomach.

I listened to the entire press conference on KFAN this morning and I think you'll come away quite impressed with Ryan. He was very genuine and sincere and got a little emotional when he talked about his father. You might not like the hire (and you might be proven right) but you'll be hard-pressed not to root for Ryan after watching the video.

Is Ryan Saunders contract fully guaranteed? If we fire him does Glen need to eat another 4 year contract. Are details available? Hopefully his contract in the smallest head coaching contract in the NBA.

I've never questioned him as a human being. You're probably right as long as I can keep my supper down while listening to him I will be impressed by what he has to say.
However, doing a press conference and coaching a team are completely different things.

Nick his credentials are out in the open for all to see. I don't know how wonderfully he performs in interviews, but as far as his credentials I am more or less fully aware.
