You mean that he'd like to be part of the solution that helps him get traded?

Just seemed like he chose his words carefully. I really don't give a crap about his little legal mishap I'd trade him because he's not good at basketball.bwgood77 wrote:WeekapaugGroove wrote:

I just think his level of play, his salary and the needs of the team - changes need to be made. Two names were really not mentioned in the press conference - TJ Warren and Josh Jackson. Now Douglice Franz (or as I called him DouglASS Franz) asked a question about Josh and was kind of a jerk about it. But telling TJ and Josh not named.

Yeah, to me it is pretty obvious that TJ Warren is not on our plans for next season.
Josh Jackson...IDK. If his value were decent enough I think he will be traded too.
It looks like the most important players for Monty are Booker, Ayton and Bridges. Pretty sure that those three are our untouchables...not surprises here.
I don't think it's so much Josh vs TJ but more oubre vs TJ. If Oubre comes back and they want to add real PFs this year that doesn't leave much time for TJ. Bridges and booker are the two pretty much for sure rotation guys on the wing.BobbieL wrote:Saberestar wrote:BobbieL wrote:

One thing about TJ - he has a skillset that Monty discussed in todays press conference -- granted, he was talking about Booker. And that is the ability to put the ball in the basket. I don't see TJ as a starting forward in the NBA or for the Suns as lack of defense and rebounding - but his ability to score baskets is a skill the Suns might want to think about keeping. Meaning, I keep him over Josh unless the trade values make it obvious to trade TJ.

Yeah they certainly shouldn't give TJ away unless they find themselves in a situation where a difference maker wants to come as a FA and they need to come up with space quickly.BobbieL wrote:WeekapaugGroove wrote:I don't think it's so much Josh vs TJ but more oubre vs TJ. Thats a good point but when you are the Suns - can you afford to get rid of a player that can score the ball. But Warren also should have more value around the league than Josh. Granted, the Suns might take a 2020 SRP for Josh just to free up a bunch of cap space too.

And I should note it's not impossible find time for all of booker, Bridges, oubre and Warren. But there is some risk where if Warren has a diminished role and doesn't put up numbers then you could have an unhappy dude (he might be already if you believe some reports) and a guy who's value tanks. TJ is a guy who needs an opportunity to have some offensive possessions because if he's not scoring he's not very useful.

I think plenty of teams (and probably Monty) would want TJ. He's basically the same player Bojan Bogdanovic is, but 4 years younger...a little better even last year from 3...pretty similar all around except for blocks (TJ had 29 and Bojan had 1).
They are talking how about how important Bojan is and how he will likely command $15-20 million a year.
TJ is pretty underrated here. I imagine if we deal him some smart team will utilize him well and he will be a good get for them.

One thing we just don't know is if Warren wants out. If that's the case then Jones has shown he's more than willing to accommodate.BobbieL wrote:bwgood77 wrote:WeekapaugGroove wrote:Yeah they certainly shouldn't give TJ away unless they find themselves in a situation where a difference maker wants to come as a FA and they need to come up with space quickly.

Good comparison. I just know the Suns have trouble scoring and again, not opposed to moving him for the right player(basically the only big money FA is KD35 if he truly likes Monty) so for me, moving the 6th pick and Josh Jackson is preferable to moving TJ Warren. Hard to find guys who can fill it up for 10-11m per year. Oubre is going to get more than that.
Its also why I think the Ball trade conjectures intrigues me - even if its Josh/6 for Ball - as that gets the team a PG and leaves decent cap space for PF while keeping TJ and Tyler on the team and than Oubre is the wildcard but if his price is too much - you now have 9.6m to spend - which could be Tevon Looney and another player for example.

I value Warren high, but it looks like this team is gonna change a lot in the next few months before the start of the season...and Warren being traded this time makes sense. Info from Ashley Nevel and Gambo confirms that.
Monty Williams did not talk AT ALL about him, and he was our second best scorer and best 3p shooter. And he is under contract for the next three seasons.
Monty mentioned Ayton and Booker so many times, they are our core. A couple of times he mentioned Bridges and how close he was from playing for the Sixers and him as an assistant there.
He even mentioned Oubre at one time. And that is all...no more names and "in theory" Warren is an important player on the roster.
I am just accepting that he is gonna be traded. I would not do it, but it is what it is.

Yeah, I think all signs point to him being traded. I didn't watch the press conference yet, but never read too much into these things. Sometimes what people talk about are driven by the questions which may have been the reason he talked about specific players, but obviously Book is our max guy and face and Ayton is our overall #1 pick from last year so those two will always be talked about. The Bridges angle makes sense too with the Philly connection.

That Would be awesome to be able to get a first round pick for Jackson, But I don't think he currently has that kind of value honestly.
Maybe Bowers could try and fleece his old team for a 2020 first in exchange for Jackson and the Milwaukee pick.........
MaybeIf it came down to it, I think that I'd rather have a first from Detroit, than Milwaukee obviously as The Bucks are easily going to be better than Detroit.
Giving a Detroit pick much hogher value next year.
And then, Once we get screwed over in the lottery again, We can package both picks to move back up???
If the suns trade anything other than a protected 2nd to move Jackson they are dumb. No need. He makes 7mil they could simply waive and stretch him and save about 4.7 mil so that extra 2.3 in space this year isn't worth it.bwgood77 wrote:Ghost of Kleine wrote:BobbieL wrote:

Jackson won't be that easy to trade. He's certainly not worth a first. We probably would need to trade our pick with him but that lowers the value of the pick.
