I don't, but I have heard his name brought up before. Don't know if it was here or on a Kings only forum.
They key is probably if we strike out in FA.

So, two questions: (1) Who are you guys targeting; and (2) do you guys have a need for a big who can rebound and defend the PNR, or are you looking for something else out of the position?

Tobias is a guy who knocks down 3s and can get his own shot, he will be 27 to start next year so entering his prime. Id love to bring back Shump, and then possibly another guard who can handle the ball of the bench.
We certainly wouldn't be the best interior defensive team, but we could score with the absolute best of them.

Do you think it is possible he'd sign here?

Tobias Harris would be a good fit but I can't see him signing here. I still think leaving the summer with Pat Beverly and Dewayne Dedmon on the roster would be a win and great fits for the roster. If you can find the money to squeeze Tobias in with those two then that's icing on the cake but likely not very realistic.

I'd wager he chooses cash in the off season. Think we could get him if overpay.
KF10 wrote:I still think we need another option on offense and I believe Harris is an excellent choice, imo. I lost count when our main guys (Fox, Buddy, Bogdan) were hitting blanks and couldn't elevate the team offensively. We relied too much of a pace, pace, pace game and didn't really have a guy who came in and be a stabilizer when things go awry. Barnes should have been the guy but he's more of a complementary piece. Didn't really have the alpha dog game in him.
Outside of a Durant, Kawhi or even a Middleton, Harris is the best we can get at the SF/PF blend type of player. Then, follow up with a Dedmon signing. That would be an exciting (& successful) group of guys in the modern game.
This FA season can really elevate the Kings if they manage to pick out the right guys. What I suggested above is simply a single idea from multiple hypotheticals.
That being said, I really hope we don't fall into the Vucevic trap. Before this season, he was regarded as a low impact guy that plays matador D. How come one season erases all of that? I still remember all of those Magic fans completely ragging on this guy for years.

We saw him regress to the low .300s. I blame the coach. Doc Rivers is an elite coach. Brett Brown will never be one in my opinion.
I hope the Sixers re-sign Tobias. He's the perfect demographic for the Sixers, turns 27 in July, thus 32 at the end of a five-year deal. But he's got to play within a system, will not be the alpha on offense.
There are two issues in my opinion: Will Philly try to low ball him? I don't think he's worth the full five-year max ($180 mil-plus), but he's worth somewhere in between, say $160 mil or $165 mil. Secondly, would it be worth it for him to leave $20 mil, $30 mil or $40 mil-plus mil on the table to go elsewhere?
Thirdly, will Walton use him effectively? I don't think Brown can.
Lastly, if I may make a general comment about the Kings. I like your young players, in particular Fox. I always wonder "what if": What if the Kings hadn't jumped to the three spot in the 2017 draft, triggering the swap? Would we have drafted Fox, at five, rather than try to trade up four spots for Fultz? Meaning an even bigger give-away. But anyone who watched the NCAAs knew that Fox was the real deal.
Anyway, thanks for indulging me.

Eh. At times he was guarding the SF on the Clippers. Hell I think he even was one of the primary Durant defenders in the playoffs.
So realistically he and Bogdan would be our primary backups 1-3. Last year Fox, Buddy and Barnes accounted for 98 minutes leaving 46 minutes at those positions before we talk about Barnes moving to the 4.
Here's a better breakdown. Assuming we sign Beverly and Dedmon.
Dedmon (18) / Giles (21) / Bagley (9)
Bagley (24) / Barnes (6) / Bjelica (12)
Barnes (26) / Bogdan (22)
Hield (33) / (Bogdan (6) / Bev (10)
Fox (33) / Beverly (15)
Fox - 33
Bagley - 33
Hield - 33
Barnes - 32
Bogdan - 28
Bev - 25
Giles - 21
Dedmon - 18
Bjelica - 12
Solid 9 man rotation. Im tired of the whole 11-12 deep crap Joerger has been pushing on us.
I'm not sure a backup pg is necessarily what I'm after. Beverly is a hound on defense and changes the entire mentality and physicality of our team.BoogieTime wrote:RipPizzaGuy wrote:BoogieTime wrote:Why is Beverly going to want to come off the bench for a team that was worse than the team he started on? Not hating on the plan (though mine might be different). Just doubt Bev will be available on the Kings reasonably. If a quality backup PG is on your list, maybe another option might be more attainable
