If Code Reddish is lighting it up in workouts, Hawks can forget landing him at 8...

I warned y’all a long time ago. Cam is top 5 AFTER workouts. He’s built for the NBA game. Duke actually hurt his stock pretty badly.

As much as i want Reddish, Hunter is very high on my list. You get both him and Little and that's a damn good look.

One of Hunter, Cam, Culver should be there at 8. I'm fine with any of those 3...

Zion, Ja, RJ, Culver in the top-4.

Coby and Garland with promises at 4, 5 or 6.

That leaves us with either Reddish or DeAndre Hunter...not bad options for #8.

Hopefully, CHI follows through and moves #7 to Lakers for Lonzo Ball.

Seems like Pelicans would be hesitant to pair Reddish with Zion again. And LAL (should they keep the draft pick) is better off with hunter paired beside LeBron.

RealGM Wiretap wrote:League Executives Believe Darius Garland, Coby White Received Draft Promises

Executives from around the league believe that Darius Garland and Coby White each received a draft promise at the combine last week.

Garland is rumored to have gotten a draft promise with either the Lakers at #4 or the Suns at #6.

Executives also speculate that White received a draft promise from a team picking inside the top 6.

Couple of things here.

1. Did Coby get a promise? I know Garland did but wasn’t aware of Coby. If it’s true that’s great because he was the odd man I had falling to #8.

2. Just because Zion/Cam didn’t work in college doesn’t mean it won’t in the pros. Matter of fact it would fit well in the pro game imo.

1. According to the article posted above, yes. Could all be a smokescreen, though.

2. Yeah. Absolutely could.

Would a new GM bank his job on it, though? :dontknow:

If Pelicans move A Davis to LAL for picks #4 and #7 (via CHI in a Lonzo Ball trade), I suspect they New Orleans would go for Culver/Barrett #4.

I have no idea what they'd do at #7.

I don't think this kid is worth a top-10 selection, but he is definitely gonna make some fan base very happy for grabbing him.

Interesting how much the conversation on Reddish has changed multiple times over the last 8 months...

You know what’s a lazy comparison? Cam to Marv...stop it.
I only said Marv is better at the same stage. I don’t think I’ve ever seriously said “Cam plays like Marvin..” etc. Especially when I’ve been comparing the guy to Nicolas Batum for about 8 months now. The similarities (for arguments sake) are the all world basketball talent with a church league mentality...that’s definitely fits. I’m pretty sure that’s the idea being expressed by the comparisons. And that is absolutely spot on.

This was back in February.

Y’all can’t tell me NOTHING.

I’m an expert.

He is way more talented than Batum or any 3 and D guy but he has some severe flaws as does Little.

Almost a blend of PG/Ben McLemore/T-Mac and Malachi Richardson

He is such an extreme mix of prospects.

A part of me thinks he will fall in between but in the right situation, I see worse Iso Joe with better range and three pointers with PG like defense.

But realistically, in a place like Chicago or Cleveland, I can see him being a rich man's malachi richardson due to his defensive chops.

Like Travis said earlier " this is a deep draft". If we hit on 8 and 10, how good would that be!

Good, they will avoid having to have drafted the biggest bust of this year’s draft.

from coby white's mouth (in an interview, I didn't talk to him lol), all he knows is that he is going 5-9. Would be interesting to see what the hawks would do if he was available; I don't think that he'd fit with trae.

My worst fear is having the other 7 go and Coby still there at 8. We would have to make a trade. I love running and gunning but it would be a defensive liability and Lloyd wouldn’t be down with it...I mean I don’t think.

Is anyone really surprised that Cam has looked great in workouts? He has all alone in the gym all-star written all over him. It's when there are 9 other guys on the court that he seems to have a problem.

If we miss Reddish I am happy with Hunter and if we miss both we should take Doumbouya, no need to take Coby White then we can go big at 10 with Goga or Hayes

Return to Atlanta Hawks
