In my opinion wiggle is great and all that but it's not the most important trait of a dribble driver. They have to have a great handle for their wiggle to mean anything, if the ball isn't under control it's not going to effectively be put to use no matter how much wiggle one has.
There's also seeing the team defense concept being played and using the dribble to manipulate the defender out of position. Then being able to exploit that positioning either through getting to the basket, finding an open player to pass to or shooting the ball is the point of it.
Taking great angles, body control, using space and screens/picks, change of direction, footwork, finishing the play are all part of how a player uses the dribble to create plays. So, 'wiggle' isn't the be all of it, it may be the flashiest aspect but without the rest it's really nothing.
There have been plenty of players who don't have great wiggle but have the rest of the skills so thrive and there are plenty of guys who have all sorts of wiggle yet don't succeed in the league.
Well, it speaks to a couple of things. It is a combo of fluidity of movement, body control, point to point burst, as well as the handle. So it's not something that relates to ISO's as much as it is something that is looked at for people who are deemed ballhandlers/playmakers.
In RJ's case, his athleticism is very good, but it's not fluid. His movements are sorta choppy bursts, and he plays upright, which makes his bursts more straight line than edging around corners.
On top of that, his handle is pretty loose and his right hand is borderline atrocious for a top player in the draft, so he's not manipulating defenders through ballhandling skill. He spent most of his time going through people rather than around them.
Some of this is correctable, some will probably persist. It's not a fatal flaw, but it is worth noting.
You are talking about wiggle in combination with other dribble drive skills but the other skills can still be found in someone's dribble drive abilities without that misdirection wiggle that people are referring to.
RJ is actually really fluid and not as straight line of a driver as some are trying to suggest he is. He is shifty, can adjust in traffic, uses angles to get to the basket, has good body control, foot work and nice touch from all angles at the basket.
He has decent burst even though he isn't especially quick and lacks the aforementioned wiggle to juke a defender. His right isn't atrocious, that's hyperbole, it is pretty basic but he uses it with crossovers and in traffic well enough right now that it isn't a glaring liability and can improve it.
He's gonna have to be careful to not commit offensive charges because some defenders are going to be able to get in front of him but with the current perimeter rules he's going to be able to create in the half court and the offensive scheme can help him, too.... if Fiz will actually get one.
I'm not worried about RJ's offensive potential, he's going to be a beast on that side of the court. My issue with him is his defensive energy and instincts, I have't seen enough from him with that to have confidence he's going to be an average defender let alone ever become a plus defender.
I just don't want this FO to be constructing a team mostly with defensively deficient players and hoping team scheme play will overcome it or thinking one or two shot blocking bigs will be back line bail outs. That isn't a title winning formula, that's a treadmill team.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right

That wiggle talk was getting to me too. It doesn’t determine anything. A lot of shifty mfs ain’t chit.
In terms of RJ he has IQ snd is fundamentally sound. Yeah he needs to fix decision making and jump shot but what 18 year old is perfect? I’ll wait...

i like tariq owens who i don't think will get drafted. he's only 6'10 but he has a mitch like motor and quickness. he's a good 2 way contract pickup.

You can't skip steps like that. We gotta hype him up to be next coming of Dwyane Wade first. Then after a year, we can start calling him THJ

I’ve watched him extensively, even before he was at Texas Tech, from back when he was at St. John’s. He is a great shot blocker but he is mad weak with a narrow thin frame that won’t ever carry man weight well. He is also not a great rebounder.

hes not going to be an NBA difference maker
Boban has shifted peoples perception on how a monster can be used in the NBA again
but Boban is so much more skilled and strong
I see Tako as a really fun G-Leaguer
at best he might be a guy who you can bring in for a few possessions where a massive body at the rim or on the inbounds helps
he's too damn slow
on that point I wouldn't use anything valuable on drafting Bol Bol either. That guy won't be healthy a single season and won't be effective in the NBA even when he is healthy. His motor is too low and his frame is too weak

Bol and Tacko are two completely different kinds of players. Bol has the skill set for sure but still major flags concerning his body and motor as you said. Tacko isn’t in his stratosphere as a player tho.
