I'm starting to be intrigued by Romeo Langford, even at 7. I honestly think he looks better than Culver and White and Reddish.

I remembered a few mocks having Langford in the top 5 last year.

Buried here, Coby White is a poor man’s D’Angelo Russell. Low hanging fruit, though I believe no one has made this comparison. The question is how poor, but even as is, Russell is player fairly likely to receive instant buyer’s remorse on Russell’s next contract, pending the aspirations of the team.

From The Stepien. Lazy comparison in some ways in others it kinda fits.

I like Culver better but if we trade back he’d be my guy. He is really good attacking the cup and I think his shot has potential. He did everything for the Hoosiers without much help. He’s a gamer.

Romeo gonna sneak into the top 10 , best one on one player in the draft and his 3 ball was suffering due to a hand injury all season . I’ve been warming up to Langford as well , 6’6 with a 6’11 wingspan oh yea

KC is feeling Reddish over Hunter and Culver. Thinks Garland and White will be gone and keeps mentioning a trade for Ball.

Langford's going to be a natural scorer in the league, so long as his 3-ball comes around. I think he's got some form tweaks to make on top of the hand injury issue.

I wouldn't consider him too heavily at 7, but I don't think it's crazy to say top 10. I think more likely 10-14 though.

I went back and watched more Hunter today... I really, really like him.

I'm hoping we get one of Culver, Hunter or Garland with the pick. Anyone else and I'm going to be a bit disappointed. I think only if those 3 are gone would I do the Lonzo/pick swap.

I think Cam will go 4 or 5.

One of Culver or White will drop to us.

Nah I'd be pretty disappointed with him - I think the handle, defense and shooting OTD is all a bit overrated.

I wonder which players are on the Bulls' list to draft before they decide to trade the pick? I have a feeling Morant and Garland are the only PGs they like in the lotto, and they have Culver, Hunter, and Reddish on a short list of BPA at 7.

I'm hoping Hunter falls to 7.

I'm guessing LA takes Garland, and then Cavs take Culver/Reddish. That should leave Suns taking White, so Hunter could/should fall to the Bulls.

Only thing that could throw a wrench in that is if LA goes with Reddish considering the hype he's picking up.

Having a shoot-first PG is like having a running QB. A QB that takes off at the first sign of pressure.

I really want my PG to be adept as a facilitator. To only have to score to keep the defense honest like a running QB would do.

I still don't believe in Coby White as a facilitator. I don't like how out of control he is, but he can score at all levels.
I have higher expectation than most for Garland to be an advanced distributor, but I'm not sure if he's not the type of player to take way too many shots away from the rest of our players. At least he can keep the defense honest.
I liken Lonzo to a Tom Brady in this analogy. Tom Brady is not scaring any one with his feet. In the same token Lonzo has a lot to prove with his shooting.

The NBA of today is not made for traditional PG of the past, instead it is made for combo guards with higher IQs. You need to be able to facilitate, shoot and score in multiple ways in order to be relevant. Above all, you need to be able to create space. Dunn and Lonzo Ball are all victims of the current Era.

A point guard like Coby White is the ideal PG for today's nba. He is fast, can shoot, can finish at the rim, can play off the ball and can facilitate. In addition to that, he has great positional size and he can play defense. He plays out of control at times but that is expected when you play in a system that emphasizes shooting within 12 seconds of the shotclock.

I'd be happy enough with Coby White. Garland seems to be getting more hype because people are in love with his 3 pt shooting, but Coby is the more complete player, and will not be nearly the defensive liability that Garland will be. Plus he's very, very fast and that will pay a lot of dividends in transition.
