Warriors worked him out yesterday.

He's a really strong tweener lol. There have been some Draymond comparisons, but I don't get it. Williams is in great shape and a good scorer, decent rebounder. Not a great defender. I guess if your 6'7" and a power forward you get the Draymond comparison.

I still think we need a big guard or wing who plays lights out defense. MATISSE THYBULLE.
But he is trending out of our range. TERRANCE MANN is another good wing defender who shut down Ja Morant.

I’m a sucker for potential so I’m leaning toward a big like Claxton lol

I like all 3 for different reasons. I feel that Cam Johnson might be the only one of those 3 available when we pick. But he might be gone as well.

Admiral Schofield is a dude. Big wing.

Can't see him falling below 20 tbh. Nice kid it seems with extreme skill for his height.

From my extensive scouting (nbadraft.net + YouTube) I really want Ty Jerome or Jordan Nwora.
If they don't make it to us, there's a number of players who look interesting but i'm not all that excited about yet.

They would probably understand. And coaches salaries are not generally released.

I have my doubts. If your company hired a person to the same position level that you have except a) the new person has zero experience and you have several years of experience and b) the new person would be making double what your boss makes, you would "understand"? I am very skeptical.

Do you think coaches are upset about how much Curry makes?

We definitely need to start hitting on some draft picks again. Hopefully Evans will become playable. It will be great to get Damian Jones back, as he looked to be developing nicely. It will be interesting to see who ends up with our mid-level exemption this year. Gotta have someone that can truly contribute. This squad can continue to compete for championships post-KD (assuming he leaves, which I hope he does not), but we need to add a wing that can shoot and play defense somehow. And, we'll definitely need to add someone to the roster that can bring the ball up and initiate the offense to replace Shaun. Tough to do, but that's where we'll be if KD leaves.

"need to start hitting on some draft picks again" ... The Warriors have had 3 LATE round picks in the last 6 years, and you said you like Jones enough to hope he continues his development, Looney is killing it this playoffs, and it's too early to give up on Evans. Add to them McCaw who looked good before losing his mind, and Bell who has been doing well and even got one all-defensive team vote. And it's not like the Warriors have a lot of spare PT to give to youngsters.

Not many teams have done better with less in the history of the NBA.

Need to keep looking for long multi-purpose wing players.

That said, the choices late in the draft are either limited athletes who were team players or good college producers, or old, or very raw athletes.

I like Johnson and Jerome and Claxton, but I like Grant Williams more.

His Godfather just sold his house in NY and may be moving back to the Bay. Would be nice to have him back around the team too.

Williams has not been in ideal shape and is an above average defender. And there is nothing but compromise at the bottom of the 1st round.

I have no idea since coaches typically do not discuss player salaries. But unless you have different information available to you, Curry is a player and not a coach. If Curry were an assistant coach and made his current salary, I absolutely believe that the other coaches would be more than upset!

I think the coaches would understand that part of his pay is back pay for his playing days.

I think they'll be able to take him without moving up.

I think the Warriors are very much hoping they can grab him in the 2nd. They have invested in him. They actually traded for him in the G league.

The kid reminds me of Joe Ingles. He very skilled, and I was kind of blown away when I found out how young he was.

Needs to add muscle, but he's very skilled and a good shooter. Pretty decent rebounder, and crafty around the hoop.

I just like how he looks competitive related to his peers... haha. I know its ridiculous to draw such conclusions from highlights, but i get the feeling he's really competitive (which for me = works hard and isn't afraid). Guys like that find a way to get on the court. Obviously, if he doesn't have the skill he won't make it - but i like what i've seen. Game wise he looks kinda Galinarish to me, but i can roll with Ingles too. Either way, i want him in the 2nd and Jordan Nwora in the 1st.

I really like Nwora too. I 5h8nk we have some great options with our first. I could argue like 6 different guys.

I watched Smiley in a couple of Santa Cruz games and I was thinking the Warriors should take a look at bringing him up. Then someone told me his age and that he wasn't eligible for a call up. Whoops, jokes on me.

He's a keeper if we can nab him in the 2nd.

Jordan Nwora decided to go back to school. Sucks because he was a nice fit.

I really want Matisse Thybulle but I fear he'll be taken before we can grab him. Ty Jerome is good and fits in a different way.

I'd like to add Josh Perkins and Zach Norvell from the Zags as UDFA. Both would come in ready to play the Warriors system, and would help the SC Warriors better model the big team.

As usual there is little consensus below around pick 15, and I've seen Thybulle as high as 17 and as low as 33. Kevin Porter I've seen up in the top 10 and in the 2nd round, but I doubt he makes it to 28 and he may be too much of a head case for the Warriors. I've seen Brandon Clarke as low as 29 and he'd be a good pickup too. Ty Jerome, Grant Williams, Bruno Fernando, Cam Johnson, KZ Okpala, Luguentz Dort, Nic Claxton, Talen Horton-Tucker, Dylan Windler, Admiral Schofield, etc. There are a lot of players out there that could help the Warriors.
