Fredderick Edmund Vanvleet Senior was tremendous this season guarding Steph.

Both of those series were decided because there was 1+ guys that the Raptors could literally ignore on defense (Simmons, Bledsoe) and 1-2 guys that carried those offenses (Butler, Embiid kinda, GIannis) that they could focus down on. The Raptors pulling this off wouldn't surprise me though but they won a lot of closer games with guys like VanVleet going supernova.

Can't the raps literally ignore every warrior other than the splash bros?

Didnt work for Portland....maybe....

Portland is a joke of a defensive team compared to Toronto.

Danny Green has always had Klay's number. If Danny comes to play you can forget about Klay being a factor. The whole Raps team has gotta play every game like it's a game 7, cos Lord knows the warriors defintely will.

I want Raps in 4 but realistically I think it goes to at least 6 whoever wins.

Curry guards Lowry.
Klay guards Siakam.
Iguodala guards Kawhi.
Looney and Green help with whoever.
Hopefully Cousins doesn't play at all.

Iggy and Green vs. Kawhi doesn't fare well considering how things went in 2017. Best of luck, they're gonna need every bit of it in that respect. Same goes for Bell/Klay/Durant at times. They have no one to give Kawhi problems. A guy like Stanley Johnson or prime/prime-ish Artest is needed (and Green isn't really that kind of defender on the perimeter).

GS going to have to primarily trap Kawhi and wall off the key-paint to get Kawhi to take shots against length after he inevitably gets to his spots on shots, and in other situations, kick it out to someone else.

Regardless of who is primarily defending Kawhi, they'll need 2-3 guys on him most possessions. If I'm GS, I make everyone else beat me as much as possible, and GS has the length, depth, and quickness to get that done.

Their defensive strategy will be interesting, because they won't be able to contain Kawhi with single or passive double coverage. Very unlikely to occur.

This is true. Danny is a very good defender to put on Klay to make it tough and throw him off his spots.

New rule proposal- If the majority of the forum has picked your team to win then you aren't allowed to go on and on about how you are the underdog with a chance to shock the world.

So who is right? Realgm or Vegas?

I think the oddsmakers might actually be wrong here.
-Durant's injury has been one setback after another. There is a chance he doesn't play at all or is ineffective.
-Cousins probably won't help at all when he comes back.
-Klay has been terrible in the playoffs. Can the Warriors count on him for anything at this point?
-Homecourt still actually means something in the NBA.

This could be a repeat of the 2016 finals- The Raptors throw everything they have at stopping Curry and dare anyone else to beat them. No one else steps up, and the Raptors pull it out in some ugly games.

Said that too.

I'm also curious to see how Iggy/Dray defend Kawhi, will need Siakam to play aggressive but smart and of course, guys gotta knock their shots down.

I think raps will force everyone not named Klay/Curry try to beat them so long as KD isn't back.

It's insane though, warriors team with Curry as best player won 73 games, this would be the toughest road to the finals that anyone has ever gone through IMO.

I think it goes to 6.

Warriors found a groove in the last round but now have to bring two big personalities back into the rotation, obviously a talent upgrade but it will unsettle things enough to drop two games against a good opponent.

That said, I don't think they ever look in danger of losing the series.

I voted Raps in 7 (have to hope!!) Honestly expecting a great series, not a short one, with plenty of dramatic play and game-to-game surprises/results. No disrespect to GS at all, that team is beyond good but I think the Raps can make a real series of this.

More than a bit worried about how motivated Klay will be after missing the All-NBA teams.

I bet we'll see him in this series a bit, especially if Green and/or FVV get in foul trouble... I really liked his defensive intensity in G3 and/or 4 at Philly.

I hope has a energizer game or two off the bench to stick it to GS. Layups, threes, steals, some slash-passes, tight defense, some key rebounds... make GS remember what he was for them.

It will be interesting to see how Gasol can run up and down to keep pace with warriors. He might be limited unless the warriors play Cousins many minutes

KD returning gives me an eerie feeling like when KG was supposed to. I’ll believe he’s coming back when I see him on the court.

Siakm is the key IMO. Warriors will trap K at very times....

Warriors have a problem with Siakm....And I think as bad as he might have looked against Bucks...he'll fee some relief playing the Warriors.

I got warriors in 7

I'd be comfortable letting Kahwi get his and shut down the others. Warriors offense should outpace theirs.

You make Klay put the ball on the floor and he becomes half the player he is. The Raptors will play him like they played Middleton. Warriors aren't winning without Durant.
