Now all of a sudden because of him calling some of his teammates young, and his comment in the media, so called leader issues and not being a good leader, you want him to leave. Lol. People are fickle. It shows you how quickly people can turn on you.
How about shooting 30% FG Pct and 25% 3PT Pct against the Bucks after totally dismissing the regular season and saying he will flip the switch in the playoffs?
He sucked against the bucks. He was Terrible. No excuses. he couldn’t hit a shot for ****. However Is that what we do around here now? you have a terrible series and that’s it ? Grand opening grand closing? We tell you to get tf out of town? No chance to learn from it- grow as a person and as a player and come back better?
If that’s the case ok cool. Just keep that same energy when’s it’s gordon or some other player who the fans think plays with “Celtic passion” “celtic pride” or some fantasy land bs. You know the try hard workers bees who won’t ever win us ****.
Kyrie let us down against the bucks. I couldn’t believe how bad he was. I know personally I severally underrated the bucks and their defense and them overall as a team. They deserve some credit for stopping kyrie and He deserves to be killed for his play.
Why though does the story on kyrie in Boston have to be closed. You don’t like his personality or his interviews with the media - I’m with a lot of the fan base on that but not to the point where it blinds me to his unbelievable talent.
Nor does his talent blind me to his inadequate leadership skills thus far- but shockingly I feel a 27 yr old can still grow. My god when I was 27 I was a total **** and that’s without the millions of dollars and people telling me since about 16 how great I am and giving me whatever I wanted. He never had to lead before and most players aren’t natural leaders of men the first time they try. Some never are but he deserves the opportunity to right his wrongs.
This team was filled with combustible personalities and a coach who to be fair couldn’t control their egos. It was a horrible year for the organization top to bottom. Stevens has real questions about coaching superstars, Danny needs to answer why he kept the roster stagnant (though my educated guess believes he tried a consolidation trade at the deadline) and kyrie needs to become a way better leader of men.
You don’t just give up on kyrie though- like Stevens and like ainge he deserves the benefit of the doubt.
Amen!! Remember, Paul Pierce was only 27 when he got ejected from game 6 in Indiana, and people were ready to ship him off for the 3rd pick and Nick Van Exel. Thankfully, Pierce matured, and grew to become a Finals MVP. Kyrie's way too talented to write him off. The fact that some people want him to leave and fetch us nothing is completely asinine.
I'm not making any excuses for his Kyrie's defense, and he obviously needs to take some courses about leadership, but in terms of offense - do people forget how well the Bucks played Kyrie all year??
Here are Kyrie's stats against Milwaukee this season:
21.7 ppg, 39% FG, 4.3 boards, 6.3 apg
Here are Kyrie's stats against Milwaukee in the 2nd round:
20.4 ppg, 35.5% FG, 4.4 boards, 6.4 apg
Milwaukee did a great job on him. Eric Bledsoe is 1st team All-Defense. There is no huge drop off here.
