I remember going to one of my 1st NBA games and watching Diop drain back to the basket, shoulder shake, spinning fade away baseline mid range jumper after back to the basket, shoulder shake, spinning fade away baseline mid range jumper during warm ups and thinking "why on Earth doesn't he do that during a game??". Seriously, he didn't miss a SINGLE shot. He looked like prime Olajuwon.

He was also dribbling the ball like it was a yo-yo putting it between his legs and around his bake and doing stutter steps. All sorts of wonderment.

It was then I realized just how talented these guys are (even the "bad" ones") and how hard that must be to do in a game when other NBA talent is guarding you.

But when there is no one guarding them and they can operate in 2nd or 3rd gear rather than 6th gear, amazing things happen.

A few things I am thinking regarding this next draft now that we've been drafting in the same spot for about 47 years...

I agree, the gym workout vids mean nothing. It just verifies they can shoot and play basketball.

There have been several drafts where someone was dropping down to us that was mocked high. Next time, let them drop further. There's clearly been good reasons that has occurred. (Monk)

Next time there is hype about a guy climbing up boards who wasn't mocked high originally, pay very close attention and if we like them please take them (Mitchell)

DO NOT sell 2nd round picks. We are going to need all of the swings on 2nd round picks we can get. Now that we can stash them in the G-League, it should be easy.

Swing for the high ceiling guy at #12, whoever that may be. The raw guy but with high potential. (Bol Bol)

All that being said, I've paid almost no attention to this draft. It's lost its luster for me and unless we landed a top 3 pick, my expectation is we'll end up with another Frank/Monk type guy to replace Frank or Monk.

I remember Willie Cauley-Stein rolling off threes with ease in workouts. I was like we need to trade future firsts to move up to get this guy lol I think he's made like 4 threes in the four years he's been in the league

I’m a big fan of Isiah Roby, hope he sticks around until our second round pick.

Looks like both Nasir Little and Nickeil Alexander Walker both working out for us tomorrow

Also think Jordan Bone could be very Cory Joseph like, I would love to grab him with one of our seconds as well.

Should have the size to play some two guard with his athleticism and defensive instincts.

I like NAW, Little, Sekou, and if we trade Zeller/MKG/Biz then Clarke.

Like to find a way to trade up and get Culver or Garland

Feel like I haven't heard much about NAW. How are folks feeling about him?

Dude can flatout shoot. Great basketball IQ. Would be a really solid pick.

I would not trade the pick to dump salary. I like the potential of players that will be there at our pick.

I don’t anyone say use it to dump a contract, mainly its used to improve the player under that contract.

Per Bonnells twitter, SGA and NAW are cousins. I did not know that.

For their sake as a basketball player I sure as hell hope not.
