Suggesting that Mitch and Trier proves that the FO knows what it's doing after only one draft and to have complete confidence in them to do again on demand is ignoring they also chose Knox when there were options like SGA, Shamet and Huerter passed over for him. Although, I won't give up on Knox either since he, too, is so young that he is still even a teenager.
This doesn't mean these young players are flawless or untouchable but how quickly some people are to call players 'trash' or say they 'suck' without any real understanding of anything more than highlight plays is simultaneously laughable and saddening ironically. Allowing young players some time to develop and not casually tossing them away is important to team building.
That being said there are times when a player or two needs to be sacrificed to save other players or to improve the team talent, financially or open it to other opportunity. Yet, not succumbing to immature 'rage quit' mentality because it doesn't satisfy the desire for instant gratification can yield significant reward through some patience.
I agree with the overall point of your post that we need to be patient with young players, however this isn't a "fan" decision, the team wants to trade him, and if they could get more value for him than just the 26th pick I'm sure they would and I'm sure they've tried but this is what his market value is around the league. If teams believed like you do, that he's an elite defensive player with finals MVP caliber potential, the market for him would certainly be higher. These are people who actually run the organizations not fans who like flash over substance. Then again this is all based on a rumor from a random twitter post so who knows if that's really his value or not.
