For starters, Mike Bibby never stood out as a player like Trae has so far...

Trea will be better than Bibby, for sure, it's not a comparaison to do, but more than stats, I hope to see one day Trae hitting shots in Conf Finals like Bibby did with SAC against LAL with better ending (Bibby was almost on NBA Finals, and certainly would have win it).
Bibby was impressive in this series, even if in the middle of share first team like never with so many passer.

Just for the record, I wasn't trying to bash Bibby either. It possibly may have come off that way. I for sure thought Bibby had a great career. The things you brought up certainly are things I see Trae doing, but with better results like you said. He's had a few clutch moments this season already.

Before the Bibby comp, I felt we had vibes of being the Kings of the early 00's with C Webb, Peja, Bibby, Christie & Vlade. Our version would be more like Trae, Huerter, Reddish, JC, & Jokic(I can dream, right?!)

It didn't.

I didn't see any bashing of Bibby
and don' forget Bobby Jackson, Scott Pollard, Hedo Turkoglu coming from the bench (with Gerald Wallace only playing few minutes at this time).

The thing I remember, if I'm not wrong, is that they were all offense, but had just some parts in the game were they stepped up in defense, enough to change rhythm of opponent offense and creating/increasing the lead. I think they had more defensive potential than what was said, but didn't need it to win and be fun as hell on the floor.
Would be great to see this team being like them, but with better ending and not having to live a nightmare in CF like SAC got.

C webb was an underrated defender, while Christie was one of the better wing defenders back then. Pollard was a pesky interior presence. Adelman has always had some pretty decent defenses. Their offense was surely fun to watch. We've got that kind of potential. Wouldn't be a bad outcome really, and could certainly fight for a title one day.

I was persuaded by the many positive adjustments he made his rookie year. I really wanted us to get a scorer before last season began, because I thought it would be too much pressure on him being the best scorer and chief facilitator on the team. I pictured a lot of 30 foot heaves at the end of the shot clock. And there was certainly some of that early on, but he didn't get frustrated. he adjusted and became really good at using his teammates and making them better. and when defenses reacted to him, he adjusted more.

So, he showed me this year he has the drive to keep working and improving his game.

Now that you talk about Christie on the defensive end, I also remember one thing they were doing easily, I don't know if it was really a call from Adelman, but Christie was getting the ball in front of the basket near the 3pts line, while every other players were moving, and he was throwing a lazer pass to someone cutting on the baseline for an easy basket.
It was perfection to watch each time they did it.

Considering they should have won the 2002 title, it's definitely of style of play I'd wish for ATL in the coming years, added with potential of Trae to be a better pass PG than Bibby, with the right teammates, they will be able to make some noise.

I was persuaded that he was going to be the closest thing to Steph Curry since I saw him in the PK80 tournament back in November of his freshman year at OU. It wasn't till about a month later and another handful of games that I realized how elite his passing was as well.

That said, even I was surprised at how good he was as a rookie. I thought it would take years for that.
