Re: Kawhi Leonard?
lol are people really having a meltdown cause the Raps made the Finals?
Uncle Dennis spoke publicly yesterday, for the first time in... ever? He was pretty non committal about his nephew's future, openly said they didn't want to go to Toronto when the trade happened, and pretty much stated that he's taking it one game at a time and they're not gonna think about free agency. Hardly anything definitive, but he didn't extend any sort of branch to staying in Toronto.
So calm down and stop following tabloids narratives, it's still at worst a 50/50 decision. And the Clippers future doesn't depend on Kawhi or Durant anyway, in many senses it might be better long term if neither of them comes.
I'm fully rooting for them to defeat the Warriors in any case.

Reggie Bullock is a free agent, would be nice cheap 3&d option off the bench

If this is aimed at me, it's off.
I'm merely laughing at the "Kawhi is as good as gone" attitude that has been espoused here since he went down 0-2.
Some of us have known our future doesn't depend on him and that we may be better off w/o these FAs and we've known that for over a year now.

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
It wasn't aimed anywhere, just a general comment about the situation. Seen plenty of comments from Clippers fans that fit that on twitter, reddit and elsewhere on the internet.
But yeah, I agreed with you about it not being anywhere close to a sure thing then, and don't think it's anything close to an impossible thing now.

I wonder how cheap he will be, but as you know, no one is worried about any of those additional guys until we see what happens with the big fish.

Raptors fan here. If Kawhi does leave imhhoping he goes to the Clippers.
You guys deserve it and if his main reason for leaving is to be in L.A, than I’d much rather have him with you guys than with Lebron and the Lakers.

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
Well one way he might be like Jordan is that he's shooting 55% on long 2-point pull-ups as well as 39% on 3s.
Jordan didn't shoot very many 3s but he was lethal on those pull ups in the playoffs.
So 50.7/38.8/87.5 in this postseason for Kawhi which are GOAT numbers.
And he was hobbling or feeling pain for some of those games, but now with rest, he's just a monster.

Would love him on the Clipps of course but I can't see him leaving Toronto whether they win or lose in the Finals.

I feel like Kawhi, Uncle Dennis and camp have already made their decision long ago and that the Raptor's Finals outcome doesn't affect it either way. I think he's coming to the Clippers. Now, I could be completely wrong but we'll see.

Kawhi owes Toronto nothing. He didn't choose to go there and gave them all he had--a helluva ride as the most underpaid player in the NBA. As long as he sticks with high praise for the city and the organization, nobody can blame him for wanting to go home.

I'm also in the same camp... I know Kawhi said he's "a fun guy", but he strikes me as introverted and someone who doesn't want to be the centre of attention. I don't see him as the type who wants to be living it up on a grand scale, but instead ordering takeout or delivery and eating at home with his wife and kids

But he can still get the most money from them, including a 5th year?
Considering that he was toughing it out through a couple of games in the series against the Bucks, maybe he wants to get as much guaranteed money as possible.
But it sounds like he's letting uncle Dennis and his baby momma decide for him.
Yes he can more than make up for that outside money in LA (he can also sign big endorsement deals in Toronto too or I don't think a shoe company wouldn't avoid signing him because he plays in Toronto, because I think Vince Carter had a big deal at the time with Nike).
But he doesn't seem like the type to have the charisma to be in the big spotlight.
However, like I said, it may be more other people deciding than him deciding.

Way to circumvent the the CBA which defines the maximum contract players can get?
That logo could have monetary value, or could be monetized.

I was thinking the same exact thing. I don't see how the NBA would have allowed for that unless Kawhi bought those partial rights to the logo from the Clippers at the same price or at a premium. Still, I like the outside-of-the-box thinking and the pull-out-all-the-stops approach by the organization.

Re: Kawhi Leonard?
This is embarrassing, cringeworthy and reeks of desperation. The Clippers need to stop begging and act like a normal franchise.
