I’m expecting a slow start from the Raps. There will be undeniable Finals jitters for the first 5 minutes or so. Then hopefully they will settle in. The Finals are essentially just another round of the playoffs. The last one. This all seems so surreal. Like a dream

Would be crazy if they weren't.
I think maybe at the start of the game instead of using that nervous energy to shoot jump shots, I hope they use the adrenaline to drive and drive and drive. A few quick early fouls against GSW will pay dividends throughout the entire game.
But we have vets like Gasol, Ibaka, Green and Leonard to calm things down. Luckily they are all starters as well.
Lowry is the key. I can see him being super aggressive. I would like to see him to have a huge finals.

Here is what the Raptors are competing against:
Jays back to back World Series Wins
Henderson's goal at the 72 Summit Series.
2010 Olympic Gold Mens Hockey
Donovan Baileys Gold medal
MIke Weir's masters.
Gretzky Lemieux Canada Cup in 87
This Finals appearance is huge, but we would have to win it all to make this list I think.

Re: Finals: Game 1 - The Evil Empire @ Carnivores, 9PM
This is probably going to be the weakest back-court defense Kyle and Danny have faced thus far and the best back-court defense that Curry and Klay have ever seen.
The Bucks and Sixers had some of the best back-court defenders in the playoffs who together had a defensive rating around 100. The Warriors though put up about a 110 defensive rating with their back-court defenders. When Lowry's the head of the snake they look unbeatable. In return the Raptors are top 3 in the playoffs at opponent 3pt% and top 8 on the season.
People saying GS in 5 or fewer will be in for a surprise.

I mean I'm glad raps are getting positive exposure but as a long time hard core raptors fan, it's pretty cringeworthy and annoying listening to some puckheads around me who just as early as a month ago passively aggressively **** on basketball as a sport, making comments like "omg they're so soft, in hockey at least a fight would've happened by now" to suddenly acting like they're so **** excited and want to watch every game.
Comes with the success, I'm learning to deal with it lol Asked one bandwagoner to name 3 guys on our bench who don't get minutes and he couldn't say anything but Lin... It's cool man, we have a better appreciation for this year than any casual can have!
we shouldnt be amd at the bangbdwagoning, acting like everyone should be hardcore raptors fans is stupid. Its nice to see guys who don't ever care about basketball get excited about the sport.

We also won the Winter Olympics in 2010 (most golds by a country mile), which I'd say was the biggest sporting achievement for Canada as a country.
Jays back-to-back titles was the biggest sporting accomplishment for this city.

If Draymond injures any of our main guys, I don't care what anyone says but the team should retaliate and injure Steph or even Draymond himself.

Do you know what's even better? We take the trophy from them.

Well, yeah, that too of course.
I also won't be surprised if they somehow throw the ball/pass the ball in Drake's direction and intentionally miss it so it hits him.

So many doubters again this series smh.
Last series, the same posters were saying "we don't have a chance against the Bucks" "538 is wrong" etc etc.
Same thing now. When will all the fake fans learn to stop doubting this team?
