That stinks. That was my hope. Sign and trade Kyrie for resigned D. Russell. Ok. I can stop beating that drum.

So tell me how DeAngelo Russell becomes a Celtic. I'm all ears.

Remember, he's a restricted free agent. If he signs an offer sheet, I believe he's off the table until 12/15/19 or 1/15/20 (I'm too lazy to look it up at the moment), even if the Nets match.

Oh shoot. My bad. I did t know he’d be off the table until then. Well, that’s that. Thanks for the info.

No, he's on the table, but I believe Russell would have to agree NOT to sign an offer sheet. Then he can be signed and traded for Kyrie.

This is the biggest offseason for the Celtics since 2007. Danny traded vets for draft assets and salary assets for like 3 years after taking over. Every move was about making a big move to add 2 stars to his star already and still have enough talent around them to win. It was the first big 3 created in the modern era. Hinkie put it in his i'm quitting letter. Every single thing. The right salary slots, the future picks, then young players, the vet players and we knew going into that year he was going to do something.

What? We weren't all sure other than 1 target was KG. Ray Allen came out of the blue.

This year is the same thing. We can't hold onto assets any longer without making our move. If we don't do it now, our window is closing, Kyrie is walking, cap space is gone, young players lose value and picks are gone or mostly gone. We have salary slots to make 2 trades. We have young players to make multiple trades. We have many picks to make trades. This is it. How many of you think Danny has no plan and he messed up and we are screwed this offseason? Complete loss? All free agents walk, nobody comes back, we draft 4 players and bring back what we got left? I'm really curious how many really think that's Danny's plan and he really did fail?

Kind of like that fantasy thread about adding to a core of JB/Tatum/Smart with not stars staying or added. I don't accept that Danny or Wyc are ok with that. IT WON"T HAPPEN.

We all know AD. I think we all figure that is 1st. Who is going to surprise us? I'd guess something like KD, but thats obvious. Maybe Capela/Gordon trade with rockets, or Beal from the should be rebuilding wizards? I'm not sure what he has up his sleeve, but we should all expect to be surprised this offseason. Feels like 2007.

Only deal with those pieces I'm doing is Capela and Gordon for Hayward/14 and 22 maybe.

Capela, Horford, Tatum, Brown, (run it back with Kyrie or Rozier if they don't resign). Bench of Gordon, Smart, Ojeyle, Baynes (maybe resign Morris as well) and 20.

That's a big negative for me. 34-year old Chris Paul is still owed another 125 million over the next three years. He is already injury prone and I'm sure that's not going to get better with age. The end of that contract is going to be nasty as hell.

It makes sense if Danny gets some picks out of it and he’s eyeing a trade that might be a couple years down the road. Still seems really unlikely though.

I’m sure he’s sniffing around Harden or maybe PJ Tucker. I don’t see why Morey would even entertain Harden offers unless he’s seriously thinking of detonating the roster and starting from scratch. I don’t like Harden’s game, but I feel like he would thrive in Stevens’ system. That being said, I think there’s a 1% chance of this happening this summer.

More than likely, if DA strikes out on AD this offseason, he’ll go in for Harden in 2020. He’s made it known that he wanted to trade for Harden when OKC put him on the block.

Or, you do a 3 way trade that involves Hayward and picks going to rockets, Tatum/JB/Yabs going to Pelicans with picks for AD, maybe Horford being traded to another team for a star SF, like maybe...KD?

Kyrie
Smart/Gordon
KD/Morris
AD
Capela?

never know with Danny.

Or Horford for Capela and Gordon?

Zion for about 3-4 years of prime Harden?

If Harden were averaging 36 ppg and was 25 years old... ok. I can see that.

uh, if you can get Harden for zion, you make that trade every time. Stop overhyping draft picks who have never played. He's not Lebron/Duncan surefire prospect.

Rockets would be more likely to consider that trade than the Pelicans. Stop overhyping number 1 draft picks?? Bro, did you just start watching the NBA? Lol.

Giannas? Morey doesn’t think twice. But Harden? I mean, if AD resigns for the full max prior, then I suppose we have a convo here. But otherwise, not a chance.

Why? He doesn't make much money, he's a good shooter and a much needed bench scorer which we obviously don't have on our team and we struggled a lot with it this year.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

‪Yes to Harden, Yes To Capela, No to chris paul. That contract is bad. Only way i am even entertaining the idea of paul on the celtics, is if kyrie leaves, and paul brings in another star player.‬

so you currently feel Zion has more value than former MVP and MVP finalist who is 29, has 2 more years under contract, averaged 36ppg with a per of 30 on a western conference playoff team?

The draft with Wiggins and Embiid who had about the same draft hype as Zion, maybe a little less got you Kevin Love.....

The knicks would have traded 1 AND players for AD. Harden is > AD.

It's different in the Summer, though.
Plus it's a whole new Cap.

Danny would move his son to the Kings if it helped the Celtics win. Not all trades of hayward help us win. Maybe we have to give up too many assets to just dump him or other teams won't take him. Maybe we can get more if we give him a year like PG13 to get back to form.

Make no mistake, if he can trade Hayward and picks for an all star this offseason, you can bet it will be done.

What if it allowed us to keep Smart and send him over to NOP instead?

Danny needs to be careful though, he could develop a really bad reputation. Everybody talks about player loaylty, but where is the organisational loyalty?

He sent IT to the finals team with LBJ.

He'd be sending Hayward to a playoff team unless it's the wizards or something. He doesn't just dump guys.
