The source of the $27 million is a text to Ariel from his manager Kawa. I'm a little skeptical of the claim and that some podunk supplement company even has the ability to pay $27 million. Kawa isn't quite Abdel-Aziz when it comes to lacking credibility but he's still an MMA manager lol.

BloodyElbow has a pretty good article on it

Most MMA fans probably don’t know that there must be another proceeding (a completely separate lawsuit) for Romero to realize on the judgment. This might include having to pay to get the money from the defendant and even repossessing property to realize on the actual dollar amount. Even then, it’s unlikely he’ll see that much money. Moreover, in these situations where a company just flat out doesn’t respond to a lawsuit, the plaintiff is just holding a piece of paper. Even if there were assets, they may be in line with more senior creditors trying to get money from them. But most likely, they won’t get the amount the Court granted them.

In the event that Goldstar is still around, there can be several issues at hand. First, they may be claiming no jurisdiction because they have no contacts with the state court in New Jersey. This might be a little far-fetched based on its business address and the old “International Shoe” test for you lawyers out there. Second, they might still appear in the lawsuit within a certain period of time. If so, they can ask the Court to ‘set aside’ the judgment. There might be a monetary penalty if the Court thinks they were just being lazy, but not a $27.45M penalty.

In the end, the judgment looks great on paper. But, unfortunately for Romero, it may be that all he’ll have is paper to hold the judgment.

I figured they've h ave enough disclaimers on the product that you basically could win a lawsuit against them...

Oh Faber.....

Ya, I think read 3 mill? But still that’s a nice payday for a guy prob making around 100k per fight.

Faber is coming back at 135 right, not 145?
He’s probably seeing TJ and Dom out and praying for a quick win and title fight to get the Astrix belt.

I'm not a Faber fan, but if the dude can be competitive AT BANTAMWEIGHT at 40 years old that's pretty nuts. This isn't HW where everyone sucks.

He must not have been out of the pool, eh? Or else it's a 6 month wait for roid testing etc.

He stayed in the pool the whole time from my understanding.

I think he's an idiot for doing this. It sounds like the Rivera lost really bugs him. But dude's a legend, rich and successful outside the cage, and has a newborn.

Yeah I think a few mil is at the upper end of the likely compensation for him. Certainly no chump change for most UFC fighters but $27m is highly unlikely.

Looks like Faber is back at 135

Dude went out on a high with a W. Don't see why he feels the need to come back. Didn't even know he had a girl but man she's a dime piece

I didn't even realize his last fight was a win. That's not common. Andy, Chuck, BJ... chasing that final glory can forever change you. Settle on anything approaching a W. Dont look back.

And it can be waived for promotional reasons, like they did for Brock.

So Dana refused to sign a guy from the contender series solely because he went for a takedown with 10 seconds left in the fight.

Putting the athletic competition before clanging & banging...what is this kid thinking, that this is a sport?

I didn't/won't watch that show so I don't know the context of that situation, but my guess it was to send a message to the roster and future show participants...bang with bros or hit the road.

Ali repping another client who won a decision was a factor, although the just let me bang bro mentality that's preferred I'm sure was another one. Dana is not really fit to be making those choices.

I haven't watched it, but honestly don't really have a big issue with it. The entire point of the show is to put on a show and impress Dana. If he wants to get guys like Justin Gaethje who just stand and bang, then so be it. Dana has said it many times, he wants exciting fighters and guys that try to finish the fights. I think Dana is a D bag, but don't really get the backlash on this one.
