Celtics can’t trade for AD until after July 1st. If AD is traded to any other team but the Celtics it will be before the draft.

If AD is still on the Pelicans after the draft then put all your money on Boston

But the teams can talk, right? The C's can know what players the Pels like where.

My point is the Celtics can’t complete any trade for AD until after July 1st. Every team knows this. The other teams will be trying to complete a deal before the draft. They will be making their best offers, take or leave it before the draft. They know if the Pelicans don’t trade AD to them before the draft it’s even less likely they will trade him to there team after the draft.

If AD doesn’t get traded by draft night there will be an extremely high probably he goes to Boston after the draft

We could agree to a deal before the draft, even announce we’d agreed in principle..

Andrew Wiggins got pulled from summer league in early July and there was no formal announcement until the last week of August..

Pelicans will wait for the celtics. They are in no hurry to trade to Anthony Davis. None whatsoever. If the celtics are the team with best offer, they will wait.

Yeah, same - put the game on an hour ago and realized I'd love to see the Raptors win - their fans are really really hyped up, they're the underdog, they have a mix of aging players - Lowry, Ibaka, Gasol - and young blood..

Winning a title and keeping Kawhi would be great for the city and great for the league - and they have just enough flexibility there's a chance their front office could do things with Lowry, Ibaka, and their 2021 cap space.. they'd have to pull off some of it before July 1, but..

They can agree to the trade to be completed on July 1 and still pick for the pelicans if a 2019 pick is included.

It is sad times when star players pick NYK, Nets, and some other non factor teams always a team like Boston that has ownership that always tries to win a championship. WTF have the Knicks done that they deserve KD ? Or Nets. Or both of these teams trying to get Kyrie.

Sad but the only player that truly wants to play for the Celtics is Isaiah Thomas. I think we are toast for a few seasons.

It kinda sucks, Danny did such a great job since the Nets trade, but ultimately we didnt have any luck on picking up a true superstar level player with all those early picks. We drafted well, and i'm not giving up on Tatum, but we didnt get a superstar. We signed players and made trades really well, but Kyrie looks like he hasnt paid off (though worth the gamble) and the Hayward injury absolutely burned us. It's hard to predict what we will look like next season, but I am firmly in the 'no AD' boat if Kyrie leaves.

Too many threads to follow, so I'll ask here. Have there been any insider rumors so far? (regarding draft, trade and/or FAs)

No, not really - except Pels insider saying that AD still wants out of NO and won't be convinced by Griffin to stay. He said Griffin has started taking offers.

He claims he has a close friend within the organization, so who knows. He also said:

I think I had posted it in another thread. I’m not even considering percentages at this point due to the changing effect of what leverage we lose with Davis vs of Kyrie goes elsewhere before we trade Davis.
But if I rank them in tiers it’s
1. Celtics and Nets 50%
2. Knicks 30%
3. Lakers/clippers 20%

Usually would totally ignore this but I'm craving rumors so I'll run with it instead.

I mean I don't think you need to be an insider to deduce that AD still wants out. He's not leaving because they didn't have Zion, lol.

Also LOL at those odds... so really Knicks is the most likely? Huge hedge of bets there, because if he goes to the Nets or Celts, dude can say "yeah the 50% was really 49% *team that gets him*, 1% *team that doesn't*.

Anyway, not trying to shoot the messenger here at all, just pointing out how absurd all of this stuff really is.

I took it as the C's and Nets are the favorites. He's putting the odds into tiers, not on the teams. I still agree though that it's ridiculous haha.

So who’s spin is this and why? Is this from the Celts to get NO to play ball? Is it the Celts trying to get Kyrie to commit? Is it the NYK/Nets/Lakers trying to get people to think the Celts are going in a different direction?

I don’t hate the idea of building around Brown and Tatum it’s just disappointing.

Horford
Hayward
Tatum
Brown
Smart

It’s a solid core but you just lack the Alpha.

hat's kinda how I feel. In fact, I think it was GoCeltics or Gomes or someone like that who pretty much summed the whole thing up perfectly: If after 5 years of a rebuild, if we're left to bet on whether Brown and Tatum will ascend, that's gonna be disappointing. Rooting for the kids will be easy to do once we're resigned to that situation but it will still be fairly deflating for a lot of people.
