Raps didn't play great either... Kawhi, Ibaka, Lowry were all very meh tonight. That Raptors defense is their calling card - it's always there.

Where was this Rap-Hive when the Sixers almost beat them in Game 7 and the Bucks were up the last series? Now all of a sudden they’re so un-beatable? Oh please.

Bucks were up 2-0. And we know what happened. Just saying.

Y’all Raptors fans are a bit insufferable.
I get being passionate.
But it’s beyond bordering obnoxious now.
As a neutral I was rooting for the Raptors for real too.

Celebrating our first finals win lol, chill bruh.

Getting excited is fine. No issues with that. Raptors played a great game.

This teamball thing was new back in 2015 but it's 2019 now and teams have caught up. If GS struggle in game 1, they will struggle more in the next game as Toronto continue to game plan it.

GS need KD back to reduce those double team loading up on Curry. And then KD comes back, he will play like fmvp again.

It's not only that, I have no idea how EVERYONE ignores how much KD lightens the load and keeps everyone fresh (and healthy). Iggy getting hurt tonight isn't a fluke, injuries far more likely when your roster is thin and everyone's pressing.

And the reason GS has a fresh Curry to keep the team going when KD goes down is exactly a result of KD lightening the load for everyone during the regular season.

My concern is Iguodala is done for the season.

Only thing that prevent Philly was time.

Ain't have enough time to come together (pause) and gel. Man...a few more weeks in the regular season with Tobias and Jimmy Buckets...look out.

Chill with the hyperbole, the Bucks defense was every bit as good as the Raps.. Don't know if they have the sustainable offense though..

the bucks give up open 3's constantly. Look at the raptors playoff numbers this post season, its not close.

They don't actually. I don't know where that myth came from. They have the greatest length in the league and close out pretty effectively.

I know the Raps defense is great. No argument there from me..

I was confused how so many thought this was going to be a cakewalk for the Warriors. No way anyone should be feeling super confident in that prediction after watching this game.

Why does that one Cali reporter always tell us his political affiliation before asking his question? Is that normal in America?

A simple take here but if Durant returns by game 3, then the warriors win. If he doesn’t, the warriors lose.

To be more specific, 99% chance warriors wins if Durant returns and 30% chance they win if he doesn’t.

If the warriors had home court and no Durant I’d have put it 50/50.

I still think it's true that the Raps will win, especially with no Durant and possibly no Iggy. I'm just hoping the Warriors win though because of the arrogant parts of your fan base, again, like Drake.

lol you're kidding right? you're one of the rare people that had the Raps winning the finals then.. most raps fans were happy with a finals appearance

Well then, people are stupid. I love the NBA and keep tabs on all teams. It's how I knew about Siakam a little after you guys did. It's how I realized how great the Raps would be when they traded for Gasol.

That's why you should watch every team you can and pay attention to everyone and not just the Sixers, Lakers, Knicks, and Warriors. Fans should expand outside of their bubbles.

It's just like how people didn't know how good the Magic were until we played you guys in the first round and how people slept on our defense and AG in particular. All they knew about the Magic was how good Vuc was and Gasol shut him down since he's the best defensive big in the game, so people will go back to underrating him next season because of that. Hell, Magic fans are already back to underrating Vuc because of Gasol's brilliance defensively.

I'm with you there.. i think the East has been significantly underrated this season. The Magic, Philly and the Bucks were all no joke. The Raps are truly battle tested at this point and I think they have a shot to win it. The champs are the champs until you win 4 games though.

Idc, I’ll put up with boasting overzealous Raps fans if that’s what we need to topple the Warriors and cause an implosion where they split up.

Go raps.

Without KD it's hard to see the Warriors winning a game. Kawhi is better than Steph, and even if the Warriors have the next few best players, the Raps are DEEP.

And even if KD comes back, the Raptors have the defense to make it a series.

Ohhhh Finals hot-takes. You never fail.

It was a nice win for Toronto. If they win Game 2, they will have done their job. But I would be very surprised to see some of the crazy shots we saw from them duplicate themselves in game 2. I'll take Golden State game 2.

This was always going to be a series. This will never, ever be a Raptors sweep or Raptors in 5. With or without Durant. As far as Kawhi > Steph, I'm not seeing it.

There's a few solid data points to back it up.

First, Kawhi has had a lot of success against the Warriors (relative to other teams).

Second, the Raptors destroyed the Warriors at Oracle without Kawhi and are now 3-0 against them this year.

Third, the Raps have the defense and personnel to get it done.

As far as Kawhi - he's a DPOY level defender who is scoring 30+ points per game in the playoffs. And this is a finals MVP, so he won't be choking like some other superstars the Warriors have played against. When you factor in both ends of the floor, he is significantly better than Curry.

Hahah, uh huh buddy. Ill be sure to keep that in mind and keep a close eye out for that Warriors sweep.
