Always enjoy watching him play. It seems a lot of international players who learn the game kinda late have a much more keen focus on what not to do.
He smoothly avoids silly fouls, gets off the ball quickly when need be, knows when to take the all-important extra dribble to push in transition or recognize the reset. Very slithery patrol of the baseline to receive a pass or box out. Draymond cannot punk him in IQ nor toughness.
I don’t know how to measure running gait but I’m sure his is awesome. He’s able to elongate or chop steps so smoothly in transition, while turning his hips or head. It’s like the crowd gasps if he makes an out-of-control change or foul.
Through prop betting I learned he’s a chameleon to winning, stat sheet be damned. Kinda like Kyle’s spirit brother but far less noticeable when the numbers look wacky. He had a fine line tonight but he can help the Raptors win shooting poorly with 4 boards and 1 assist. That’s how comprehensive his floor game is for a Big, fully recognizing the importance of team ideals like screening, postiioning, energy, and situational play. A real Matrix-type approach.
And knowing his background you’d have to be a knobhead not to like the kid.
