Am I missing something... I suspect these guys don't like Trump but it would be disrespectful I think for Trump or Obama or any US President to offer a trip to the White House for the Toronto Raptors.

I would think Justin Trudeau would be meeting with them somewhere. Trump/Obama whoever offering up a congratulatory tweet would be fine and probably right thing to do but the official government visit should be in Canada if Raptors win it.

I would expect the offer to be there, but I think with him in office, most teams are declining. Miss you, Barack :(

Dont think so but:
Thursday's shortfall is steep enough that the numbers would likely have been down even with the Toronto market included.
maybe not at 10-year lows, but still on the lower end of the past decade

Which is crazy to me. We finally have a fairly balanced competition with two good teams and just because LeBron is not playing, the masses don’t care. It doesn’t surprise me though.

I still think Raps in 7. The Warriors are going to adjust. But it's going to be tough. If they lockdown Siakam, Kawhi will get more looks. Also KD might be back as soon as game 3 and it'll be tougher in Golden State regardless. Series is far from over. Go Raps tho

Also - more and more viewers are watching over streams than traditional cable.

It wasnt sarcasm, but do you think the team would visist 24 Sussex instead?

I believe the Blue Jays visited both the White House and Sussex in 92/93.

Canada and the US have the most expensive telecom rates in the world. You can't afford cable unless you're making six figures here. I imagine ratings will continue to decline year after year as more and more people move to illegal streams.

AND,

There were also over 20 large "Jurassic Park" type gatherings in several Canadian municipalities. Some reached numbers of over 20,000 people gathered to watch in a public forum on one large screen.

This is aside from the offer by Cineplex (Canada's largest movie theatre chain) offering free tickets to watch the raptors game in their theaters.

I wouldn't be surprised if if over half of Canada's entire population tuned in yesterday.

GO RAPS!!

The ratings are down because they started the game at 9. It was ridiculous.

Why would a US President offer a White House visit to a Canadian team from Toronto? Frankly, I think only Donald Trump may do it and only because Warriors insulted him. But he would only do it I suspect if Canada wouldn't be offended -- they should be if a visit with Trudeau didn't come first at least.... -- and if the players would be okay with it -- they probably aren't.

I mean if a US hockey team in full of Canadian players, the Canadian government doesn't offer them formal visits or do they? (I could see the towns where some of the star players live honoring them but that is different) I realize a Canadian team hasn't one the Stanley Cup since around 1993 but I still see that as disrespectful.

Golden State won't just lay over and die. They will come out strong for game two. Let's hope raptors will have an answer for it.

Not so fast, KD likely back Gsme 3 or 4.

Too big a hole. Warriors aren't recovering from 2-1 or 3-0 against the Raptors.

NBA is still an american organization, and the Raps still have a majorly american team. Besides Marc, Serge, Siakim, Boucher, i think the rest of the team were all born in the US.

That's taking it too far. I think the Raptors had a dream start to the series, yet I don't expect FVV/Siakam and Gasol to shoot over .600 from the field and score 70 points a game. I also would expect Green to do at least slightly better next game, he was 2 of 9. If Iggy plays I expect him to do better, too.
Good assessment:
