For the Knicks, it's always a challenge to get to obvious right?
Can the Knicks actually trade for Anthony Davis? Are they even able to draft the 2nd or 3rd best player?

Reality:
Just get it over with Knicks. Bring him in for a workout.
Talk about how good he was in a meaningless workout.
Trade down and get him and if he suck in his first year as a Knick, then talk about how good he will be in the next few years.
The life of a Knicks fan. :(

Oh, this has nothing to do with Kevin Knox, who I think can be a decent player in the NBA.

Or they can stop trying to be cute. This is a 3 man draft, and this guy is going to be available

Worst case scenario is Ja Morant at 3.

To me, it's one of those "water is wet" articles.

THIS X 100!!!

As I just said on the general board, the article clearly says the KNICKS are "DOING THEIR DUE DILIGENCE" which is exactly what they're supposed to do. It does not say the KNICKS are GOING TO trade #3.

IF Memphis picks RJ, or IF Memphis trades the pick and some mystery team jumps ahead of us, the KNICKS are preparing Plan B,C,D,E, etc. for all scenarios -- just as they should.

Reading is fundamental, people! :banghead:

Worst case scenario is Ja Morant at 3.

im pretty convinced this is either atl trying to elevate their pic value or it’s simple due dilligence

It’s clearly RJ to nyc

The Cavs? Assets? What assets. 5 and 26? They'd have to throw in a future unprotected pick.

Its just typical "lolknicks" circlejerk stuff that blows this WAY out of proportion. People take it and run with it. Its a non-story. I don't care any more about outside perception and its clear that you don't either - we just need to drill this point into the rest of our "fan base" until they finally mature and learn to not take everything at perceived face value.

The #6 pick, their unprotected 2020 first rounder as well as that of the Bucks for Ja and Frank.

They own their 1st next year if it falls 1-10. I'd be extremely interested if they gave it up with the 5th.

#6 + Suns unprotected 2020 pick

That'd be nice, but I see it being protected. Kind of like the Dallas-Atlanta trade.

I’d tell the Suns no deal if they want to protect it.

I want a shot at James Wiseman no matter how small our chances would be.

I don’t think Brandon Clarke is a good fit with John Collins. Bad idea to have two bigs with short wingspans especially if you have Trae Young as one of your perimeter defenders.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder how much it would take to actually move up?

2019 #3, 2021, Dallas Picks? I still don't think that would do it either.

#3 and Mitch for Zion would be the furthest I would go and I would still feel I got robbed.

Beyond that I would tell Griffin and his lottery luck sorcery to fuq off.

rj is typical fools gold. trade for cleveland is a golden parachute situation.

only sticking point is NO’s evaluation of rj as a trade asset. it prob isnt that high given griffin is in charge.

stuporman wrote:So who here would be in favor of the Knicks trading down only a few spots if it means they get a future 1st from a team like the Cavs or Suns who will likely still be a lottery team when it conveys?

It preserves cap space this season and allows them to continue to amass assets for any potential trade or increasing the pipeline of young players on cheap rookie contracts in case of future capped out seasons.

If the Knicks can move down and still pick someone like Culver/Garland while getting a top 3ish protected 1st. I think it's a better than 8 and 10 this draft considering the next couple of drafts should be stacked.

As long as the 2020 pick is unprotected (For Cavs it will need to fall in the 1-10 range otherwise it goes to the Hawks) I would be interested. Guys at the top of the 2020 draft are so appealing that it would make up for the pain of passing on RJ especially if the guy we choose with a lower pick pans out.

Would consider Garland, Cam and Hunter over Culver though.

2020 first rounder in the 1-10 range. Team also has the #5 pick of course this year plus they own two first rounders in 2022, theirs and OKC’s.
