I agree. Even if it's for Anthony Davis, the most we should give up is lonzo ball, Ingram, and the number 4 pick. I don't think we should include kuzma or hart. They are ready to play right now and be serviceable, plus they're getting paid peanuts, in comparison to Ingram and lonzo ball.

I'd actually flex towards keeping D in the trade and signing shooters, so I'd rather move anyone than Ball.

Unfortunately, it might be too late for only 1. Our ownership forced the number 3 to be of importance. #23 has time limitations. And i believe we will need at least 2 more stars to carry us beyond 3.

Can someone tell me if its possible for the Lakers to sign Butler and trade for Beal assuming they can match salaries? If yes, how good of a fit would it be?

Penberthy wrote:#4 for #8 and #10

Beverly (20) Ball (28) Bonga
Reddick (28) Hart (20) #8
Kuzma (16) Ingram (32)
Lebron (32) Kuzma (16)
Vucevic (34) Wagner (14) #10

It's a pretty good lineup because I see Beverly and Reddick there along with Vucevic. If Vucevic asked for a lot more and prevents this team from acquiring Beverly and Reddick then no, I will rather have Kyrie, Seth Curry (Lebron playing the point) and Mcgee.

If we trade Kuzma I will call for Rob’s head.

Let's say we use the #4 on Hunter, will you trade Lonzo to Phoenix or Chicago if Culver is available?

Who of the young core has more "real" value? Ingram is coming off of a blood clot. The reports are it was a freak incident but no one before their huge contract year can be believed 100%. On top of that his value will be diminishing as he gets closer to the end of his contract. Ball has played a little over 1/2 of his games, he comes with Lavar baggage and quite frankly hasn't moved forward much at all when he plays. Both are probably valued a lot higher by Laker fans than the league as a whole. OTOH, Kuzma is a known and much more mature commodity.... he's cheap and under control longer than Ingram and has proven to be durable. My guess is that he'll be the first ask in any deal.

Yeah... I can see that but if the shooters we get are guards then...... My issue with Ball is that he seems to be off the court as much as on. Going backwards in FT shooting is another concern.... especially when you start in the low 50's.

I take it Garland is only doing private workouts for teams.

Yeah he pulled out of everything else. Will be interesting which he does workouts for, but the Lakers certainly would be one

I would be fine with garland. More guard play. But i still prefer hunter. A guy who led his team to the title. Hit bigtime shots. Played in a tough conference.

With J Kidd on staff I would like to see where he can help Ball and the other kids.

If Ball ever becomes a more consistent shooter, FG (.45) and FT (.80), he has the potential to be a top 5 PG.

Looks like he has a promise.

Curious that this announcement happened right after his meeting with the Knicks FO and amidst rumors that we are looking to trade down from #3.

Would be great if you guys get both.

I know it would be foolish to give up on Lonzo but LeBron does well when surrounded with shooters with Garland and Hunter being among the best in this draft class.

By the way things are shaping up Hunter may be available even at the 7th pick.

This can be said for hundreds of kids who come into the NBA. If it were just a function of time and coaching they would all be great but it isn't and too often teams wait to long to pull the cord on them. Ingram will be a borderline allstar IMO however he isn't a guy to build around and isn't the leader of a playoff team. Ball is more of an enigma to me. His lack of fundamentals as a shooter are as glaring as his ability to create a fast break. The gap is so large on the shooting side I don't ever see it closing to him being in the top level of PG's from that perspective. If we have the right team around him to offset that deficit then I say lets keep him but the talk of being the greatest ever (no you but others here) needs to fade away. We have more time with Kuzma and Ball and Kuzma is crazy cheap for his production. Ingram is the one I'd trade over re-signing and that date of decision is coming very fast. The money it will take to keep him would bring a player that would help us more in the near term which is what getting LeBron was all about.
