RJ for #5, CLE 2020 First if pick falls between 5-10 (If not, CLE 2021 unprotected & a couple of seconds).
Pretty much the Luka/Trae trade 2.0.
Cavs should be willing to give 2020 first round pick 1-10 or no deal.
I don't think CLE likes RJ that much. but If Perry can get that done then great. I personally don't mind waiting until 2021, we'll have 2 unprotected picks at a time when we're probably starting to plan towards life after KD.

Re: Draft Thread 2: The Electric Draftaloo
Pretty sure that the cavs cant trade any future picks before 2023 due to their other commitments so it would be a non factor anyway. Best we could hope for from the cavs is 5,26 and 2023 unprotected which is too far away as it is to be doing such things. As for now, Im fine with the due diligence that the Knicks are doing but the common sense pick needs to happen.

Wait how?
Its trick photography... since the measurement stick is in front of the basket and the camera is down low at the ground, probably around the half court line, and angled up it makes him look higher in proportion to the rim than he actually is...
That being said Culver actually has surprising pop around the basket when he has a head of steam. The problem is is his first step is slow and his handle is extremely basic so he rarely gets the separation necessary to show off that pop.
Yup. You tend to always see this angle for vert pics. And ya Culver may throw down a nice dunk here and there, but the vast majority of his tape shows his slow first step and struggling to create space against slow opposition. Culver is going to have to be a crafty scorer over athleticism.

The thing I wonder about Culver - he seems to have grown this year. So can he get more pop as he fills into his new height?

That video is funny. Yeah, Culver looks better when you just show him making shots and Barrett only missing. No bias at all.

Re: Draft Thread 2: The Electric Draftaloo
my priorities with the 3rd pick:
1. trade for AD
2. take R.J.
.....
3. trade down if you get an unprotected or slightly protected future first in addition to a top 6 pick. but I don't like this option tbh.

the fact that cavs are in love with rj presents a great opportunity to extract value from one of the few remaining dumb owner run teams independent of the AD consideration.
try to get a future unprotected first, doesnt matter the year. it will be a strong trade asset because cavs will be bad for a long long time.

I won't be surprised if we took Culver at 3. I don't see how Barrett is a superior talent. Both are on the same tier imo. And Culver might be a better fit with KD than Barrett.

culver wont be more than a third option type but he’s really good at it. also has nice finishing touch around rim.
his passing acumen is great, better than rj at reading more complex situations.
just dont expect him to be the primary dribbler. think levert with better passing.

Re: Draft Thread 2: The Electric Draftaloo
Exactly. Maybe they should play the last 3 games of the tournament Culver played...ya know games that might actually how Culver would do against the better defenses and better defenders he'd face on a nightly basis in the NBA? You know where he shot 24% combined from the field and was basically getting embarrassed?Capn'O wrote:That video is funny. My guess this vid was created by a Cavs fan who realizes that Barrett us the guy they desperately need.

Re: Draft Thread 2: The Electric Draftaloo
They reason they are infatuated with Barrett is because he's the only other potential impact player in this draft. The only other plyer outside of Zion and Morant to project as a no.1 alpha option.awy wrote:the fact that cavs are in love with rj presents a great opportunity to extract value from one of the few remaining dumb owner run teams independent of the AD consideration.

Obtw...as both teams rosters are currently structured, the Cavs and the Knicks are both basically in the same boat with the same exact needs.

This team needs a star level prospect.
The role players will be easy to get once we find thee guy. The question is, who is thee guy in this draft class that’ll be available at 3.
