It’s funny that some Pistons fans think Trae is an option.

That said, I haven't heard nothing about this so far. So it sounds like silly offseason rumors

Matter of fact, he doesn't seem to be losing his athleticism either. He's not lob city Blake anymore, but we don't need him to be that anyway. Plus, he's developed enough that he doesn't need to be lob city Blake anymore.
If the mindset is that we won't be in the lottery, or top 10 at least, why not move Baze & Plumlee dead weight, and add # 10 in a trade for Blake? I'm not saying we should make the move just to make a move, but it's not far fetched to say Blake would give us a strong veteran star to help lead a group of young guys that we have. It's a good move to start making Atlanta even more attractive, and who knows, maybe this would be a move to us a threat in the east.
If it doesn't work out, we still have Collins, Trae, Huerter, & the #8 pick and the enough cap flexibility to still be players in FA. Not to mention, the FA classes for the next 2 year are very sub par. By the time a relevant, star player becomes available in FAcy, Blake will be almost ready to expire anyway. Like if we were looking for a move for a star player, this is about as good as it would get beyond internal growth, which is still possible.

I’m at least intrigued. I have been a Griffin fan for damn near his whole career and I’ve always wanted him on my squad. That said, my brain knows it’s not the best idea...but my heart says give it a shot and figure it out, especially after reading thecampster’s post. If this was a few years ago I would have said go for it without hesitation.
You guys can stone me now. After saying that, I am at peace.
