Oddly it turned out he was not going to average 30pts on 85% shooting for the series afterall.

Kawhi just had no help out there offensively. Except for Fred Van bleeping Vleet of course, who makes absolutely no sense at all.

But there was nothing unusual about last game. Everything that happened was perfectly normal.

They really didn't seem to game plan for him game 1... Game 2 they did. It's not like they came out with the exact same strategy and suddenly he couldn't hit layups...

Game 1 really wasn't that unusual.. But neither was game 2. Lots of over reactions both ways..

Of course. Its the playoffs, game to game adjustments are to be expected. It was blatantly obvious the defense on him would change and he would revert harshly to the mean.

Unless you're a rabid fanatic who can't think straight when it comes to your team. Like most of the guys from the post-game 1 thread.

He's in that brake out phase where defences don't really pay attention to him (similar to giannis 3,4th year), let's see what he does when defences start doubling him

Meh, teams good enough to win a championship have to be resourceful enough to score in lots of ways. Every player has up and down games and Siakam was sort of due for a weak game after a ridiculous game one, and Raptors still could've won if Lowry or Gasol stepped up a little more. I'd guess that many times teams have won games in the Finals when their usual 2nd highest scorer only scores 12.

The Raptors could have actually taken this game if they actually guarded Draymond and stopped allowing him to pick apart their backline defense over and over after trapping Curry. For a long stretch of the game, the Raptors defense and offensive execution was sloppy and discombobulated, instead of sharp and engaged, and you just simply can't get away with that against the Warriors.

Siakam's main flaw is that he can't create shots outside of the paint, so the Warriors played Cousins/Bogut all night and clogged the interior (like the Sixers and Bucks did) to slow down his scoring. It also doesn't help that a lot of guys shot poorly tonight from beyond the arc, which just cramps spacing even further. Hopefully this is another indicator to Siakam that he needs to add a pull-up jumper to his game this offseason, which would open up his drives and post-ups without having to rely on other players to open up the paint for him.

Siakam needs a bounce back game in game 3, he's just gotta keep being aggressive.

I love Pascal's energy but he seems awkward sometimes on his drives and dribbles. It almost like he's moving too fast to control all of his limbs. I think this is the reason why when he misses shots, he misses them very badly. If he learned how to maybe take his speed down a notch, he probably would be more consistent on offense.

The game-to-game takes on this board are crazy. Just one page ago you had a person saying he had probably already eclipsed Draymond. LOL! Now on this page it is all about his weaknesses.

Why the hell does Siakam have a 18 page "megathread" on the General Board?

Thread goes back goes back to August, he’s likely MIP, and had a huge Fianls debut...

OP asks for opinions from non Raptor fans and of course it's immediately followed up by Raptor fans calling him a future superstar and a better Draymond Green. People just can't help themselves. The guys a nice rotational piece/first or second guy off the bench on a contending team. Def a good pickup for where he was drafted, was an older red shirted freshman coming out of college and will be 25 this season so it will be interesting to see how he developes. Not sure who I would have rather have kept between him and Poeltl as I think he will really thrive under Pops also.

Well played. Pascal Siakam is shooting 37% from beyond the arc with 6.1 attempts per game during this season.

Looking back, I can't believe Siakam was compared to Draymond f*cking Green

That's absurd. The way he confidently steps into those 3s from above the break now and sinks them is mind blowing considering last year they'd barely touch the rim.
I don't think I've ever seen a player grow and develop his game as fast as Siakam in my life.
Someone to definitely keep both eyes on. :o
