Defensive juggernaut, I'm saying...

I don't think Clarke is anywhere close to being a juggernaut on defense. More like a high energy guy than anything. That's good to have coming off the bench, but I wouldn't be running to the podium expecting him to be Draymond Green on defense. Draymond has a really high defensive acumen, mixed with great length, and still brings the energy. That's what makes him such a juggernaut on defense.

NBA Draft 2019 Prospect Watch: Mfiondu Kabengele

A breakout sophomore campaign has catapulted Florida State big man Mfiondu Kabengele to take the next step and enter this year’s NBA Draft

THIS PAST SEASON Kabengele averaged 24.5 points on .534/.369/.761 shooting splits, 11 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per-40 minutes, with all 37 of his appearances coming off the bench. Standing at 6’10” and armed with a 7’3″ wingspan, Kabengele possesses the necessary physcial tools for where the center position is trending toward. The combination of size and athleticism lends itself for both rim protection and to leap up and throw down vicious two-handed slam dunks on alley oops and lobs. Along those same lines, Kabengele can glide up and down the floor with ease and he holds plenty of foot speed to defend in space and take on switches on opposing ball handlers defensively. Perhaps the most appetizing element of the 21-year-old’s game is his budding shooting range and proficiency from three-point range at this stage in his development, especially as he’s improved year over year in that regard both from deep and from the free throw line.

The biggest concern regarding Kabengele at this stage in his game is refining the raw athleticism, skill and tools he possesses.

Despite his shot blockng expertise and his overall impact on the defensive end, Kabnegele regularly plays himself into foul trouble. As far his shooting touch is concerned, the biggest question will be whether Kabengele’s effectiveness spacing the floor can hold up on a higher volume and under a more maximized role, should he become a starting caliber big man down the road in his development.

Sports Illustrated’s Jeremy Woo noted Kabengele’s modernized skill set for a big as why he’ll be a worthy selection in this year’s NBA Draft:

Code: Select all

“Kabengele emerged over the course of the season as Florida State’s sixth man, showcasing a surprising level of defensive mobility for a big-bodied player and proving he can block shots, rebound with consistency and knock down spot-up threes. The nephew of Dikembe Mutombo, Kabengele’s productivity and willingness to play a role has made him one of the more intriguing guys to follow as the combine approaches. He checks the right boxes for an energy big, and if the jump shot translates, there’s an interesting player here.”

I reached out this morning to several insiders and contacts about feedback on my big board and just general rumors.

Most thought it was solid, some great, some had disagreements on the backend of the board.

That said, most liked it.

No truth to the BG to Atlanta rumor. All laughed and said, stay off twitter.

Also, Michael Cunningham is right and wrong. Atlanta doesn't see Culver/Hunter/Barrett as elite prospect nor do they see Little/Reddish/others as non elite or elite. They haven't even workout some of them and they are still in evaluation mode.

He is right about the Knicks just haven't showed interest yet in 3 for 8 and 10. Seems like they Barrett or AD from the insiders.

Reddish agent has been in communication with the Hawks about Reddish and not just about Trae who he is also the agent for.

The Pels are still trying to convince AD to stay.

No one knows what the Lakers want to do outside of trade for AD.

If you think it is good, put it in a separate thread so people can just pull it up. (Now everyone will accuse me of being your fake second account.) I think you know your stuff, but last year some of the inside info you got at the last minute was definitely a smoke screen. I never get inside info; the only inside info I have/had is that Coby White has or had bad teeth.

Let’s do this deal with the Knicks and get the stud Barrett. We’d have the best 1/2 passers in the league in a starting lineup for at least 5 years.

Hmmm ... speaking of smoke screens ...

So you try to throw us off the scent by suggesting you may be a burner account ... then tout KingSupes' Big Board .... Supes, who is a notorious Duke fan ... then you throw some shade at a UNC player ... hmmmmm

I'm not saying you're a KingSupes burner account ... but I'm not saying you're not a KingSupes burner account ... hmmmm

Haha, I feel like I'm missing out since I don't have a burner. I just let it all flow through kg01 so folks think I'm {insert political correct word for 'schizo'}.

Seriously, if folks knew straight-laced I am in the real world, it'd blow their minds. :(

My burner would definitely be another GT fan.

We need to try to find gonzo. Probably on an OKC board with all our other German ex-Hawk fans that left when Dennis got traded.

Let's be honest, I'm waaaaay too full of myself to ever let another poster/account take credit for my brilliance.

Also...I'm not nearly coordinated enough to live a double life/keep a second account. I'd give myself away immediately.
