It's time for a new thread and some fresh ideas.

Here's The 2018 Trade Thread for reference.

If kwahi says he wants out no matter what... Toronto has to start from scratch. Kwahi quietly expresses interest in Lakers and waits for another piece or two

They might consider kuz and 4 for siakim

If we get siakim... The chances of getting kwahi increase exponentially.

Not enough for him I think. He has been the 2nd best player on a finals team and looking like he has all star potential. Plus already an incredible defender. Siakam is already 25, but he has so much potential b/c he has only been playing basketball for 10 years. So athletic.

Pretty sure Siakam is untouchable even if they nuked the rest of the roster. To think they would start a rebuild a few months after beating the Warriors in game 1 is crazy though.

Agreed. The trade should be viewed as beneficial to the other party.

I’m interested in a complementary SG that could acquired via trade. Bradley Beal, has been discussed quite extensively. Any other constructive SGs come to mind that may brought in via trade?

If you get Kyrie in the FA then you can go for:

SG/SF
Richardson. 3 and D, high rpm guy on a 10m contract.
Covington. 3 and D, high rpm guy on a 10m contract.

PF/C
Sabonis. Underrated D, can add 3pt range. Potential to be similar to Kevin Love.
Saric. Has 3pt range and special passing abilities that are under-used.

Can get all 4 with this trade:

Lakers get: Richardson, Covington, Saric, Sabonis
Lakers give: Lonzo, Pick 4, Kuzma, Wagner, Bonga,

Covington and Saric for pick 4, Wagner, Bonga
Richardson for Lonzo
Sabonis for Kuzma

Lineup:
Kyrie, Richardson, Covington, LeBron, Sabonis
Hart, Ingram, Saric

Covington and Saric for the #4 and subpar bench players. Please enlighten me. What is Minnesota’s rationale for this trade? I cannot imagine Minnesota needs more youth on their roster playing big minutes.

Richardson for Lonzo. Are you referring to Josh Richardson? If yes, other players may need to tossed in to overcome the salary differential.

Sabonis for Kuzma. If I were Indy I would say no thanks. While one can argue Kuzma is the better talent, I would counter that Sabonis as a skilled stretch 4/5 is a far more valuable commodity.

Minnesota want to go young to fit their timeline and to save money over next 4 years. They won't want to pay for Saric after next season and they can slip under cap this year with this trade. Draft picks this year enter RFA when Wiggins comes off his max.

Yes Josh, salary swap is fine, within 5m.

Well that's a debate. I think Kuzma has more value for Indy given the way he scores.

You lost me. Minnesota wants to go young so they resign players to trade for the #4 and add unproven bench players. You may be over inflating the value of the 4th pick.

I don’t disagree that Kuzma can offer value to the team. I question if you need to give up a rare find in Sabonis for a SF position player that is better than average. Mind you there are so many skilled 3s, in fact we have three on our team alone.

What does the Lakers' offer for AD look like now? Less than what was reported before?

Suns don't really need Garland's shot making with Booker on the roster, they need to look for either Culver or Hunter or even Coby White, who has a lot more defensive potential.

I don’t see the value of this trade from the Lakers perspective. As is, Josh Jackson is a SF on a team already 3 deep in that position.

We could however use an efficient and productive SG. Let us know if a trade including Booker is open for negotiation.

It would almost certainly be less than before, because the offer Magic made before was asinine. My limit would be one of Ingram or Lonzo + 4 + one of Kuzma or Hart.

If we did that could we afford Kyrie too?

Kyrie
Ingram
Kuzma
Lebron
AD

I don’t see how it’s certainly less considering the Lakers can and will offer the 4th pick, which has more value than anything the Lakers previously offered.

Didn’t Magic offer all of Kuzma, Ingram, Ball, multiple picks, pick swaps and offer to take back bad salary? Even if we didn’t know what the value of the picks were at the time, I still think that package Magic offered as a whole will be more than what will be offered this offseason.
