In the scenario where you are adding top talent and will be able to contend, every team should change their plans.

That's not the scenario with PHX. The last few years, they keep going after role playing vets to win now instead of letting the kids develop.

Lakers could give up Lonzo Ball for 6th and use it in a package for Anthony Davis. Dunno if Lonzo Ball is what Phoenix is looking for, but trading that 6th pick for a Veteran point guard seems moronic anyway so who knows with these guys? Plus it's James Jones at the helm, Lebron's collusion buddy, maybe that's the direction this is headed.

They shouldn’t go after vet. Instead, overpay for a young guard or to move up and get Ja.

I don't think we know if it's actually a bad idea until they make the move.... Nothing wrong with trying to compete with their young pieces if they feel that they already have their foundation pieces in place (Booker and Ayton)

Conley, for example, could help unlock those guys a little more and pump their value up... Not everything has to be championship or bust. If the owner wants to compete more and is willing to foot the bill then I don't see the big deal in moving the 6 spot in this specific draft to try and better the team next year.

It’s not just about championships. It’s about 5 years from now. Could it be a bust? Sure. Could it be another foundation chip that pushes you forward? Sure.

Conley has relatively short expiration date.

We’ve seen teams go for this win now move and flop massively. I would rather swing for the fences by going after another young player. You can get game managers in FA.
