He also isn’t trading Hayward this summer. So Conley isn’t a real option. Unless you sign and trade Kyrie to NY.

Yep about the only way to do it and I assume MEM will want their pick back.

They either want to move on from Conley's salary and will take a small compensation or making a move for Conley isnt worth it. Having said that, the Suns should try to make a move using the 6 for Conley

Ainge was talking to Houston recently.. Could it be Paul? His contract is pure Sci fi

Comfortable to say it's not Paul.

Any chance to know what tier? All star? All nba? Does it move the needle for us?

Then yea. No Conley. Let’s move on..

I agree the dynamics of the trade don't seem to match up but Conley has to be the target no? While he isn't Kyrie the production isn't that far off.

I mean maybe it's Jrue Holiday and that would seem like a Danny trade. Not a sexy name and wouldn't cost as much. Plus you'd assume New Orleans going to try and go with the youth movement to let Zion fully develop.

I just want this off-season to get on with itself already!

In what respect does it hurt the pick they get a lot younger and less leadership. Are you thinking they use the cap space to bolster the roster in a big way if Conley is moved?

I like this move for both teams. Pels clear salary, add some talent and Suns get an elite combo guard to pair with their elite combo guard

I think he re-signs, but if not, it is ok. It is not the end of the world. Life continues. Everything is going to be ok. Nothing lost. He can stay or leave if he wants to. I am ok with either option.

Probably nothing major, or worth noting. It’s just one of those things that you just go with it.. makes the off season more interesting I guess.

Comments like this are the reason people with incredible, usually accurate insider information like BfB left this forum without even saying goodbye, do what you want to do, I'm just saying...

You questioned Keith pretty heavily too.

Keith **** made it man. Like, less than a year later. You were 100 % wrong.

Just like you are here.

This also is not an option.

Technically possible.
Conley is $30.52 => min outgoing $24.3M
Kyrie outgoing as $20M. Add Yabu & Semi and you get to $24.87M.

3 team with NY to absorb Kyrie into cap space / send DSJ to MEM. Seems like there could be a basis.

Why you wouldn't just roll with Terry, I dunno... 8-)

Outside of Woj he's the most reliable source you'll ever read or hear in regards to the Celtics.

Including any Boston media members.

That's as close to Ainge as you'll hear, again outside of maybe Woj.

Well I doubt anything would be imminent but like we all thought obviously ainge is working on contingency plans like any sound GM would. Curious to know who it is but obviously like many here have mentioned any PG with a high salary ismgonna be hard to pull off.
Obviously not Westbrook not harden not dame.

If it was Conley like a lot of people suggested- that is such a Stevens style point guard. Curious how that would change any other moves do we still pursue AD?

Eh, I’ve been around for awhile, and from my experience, those folks with insider info usually aren’t any more accurate or insightful than we are with our own educated guesses. But with that said, their vague tidbits and cryptic posts definitely make the offseason way more interesting so I do appreciate all of them. I remember last summer (or the summer before, can’t recall) the offseason thread was bananas.. then it would die down, and an insider would post something vague like “....only a matter of time” and boom, 80 pages in an hour. Good times.

It means they add two lottery picks this year, probably Morant and a wing, or Barrett or Culver at 2 and Garland or White at 6..

And either they bring in a free agent this summer, or take on a short bad contract to help out a team near the luxury tax for an asset - but assume they’re bottom 6 next year - on July 1, 2020, they could have Morant, Culver, Jaren Jackson, their 2020 top 6 pick, and like 80-90 million in cap space. Depending on the way their lotto picks have developed, that’s a good time to either chase max players or, more likely, follow the Philly model and add some Reddick/Amir types to put a normal team around their youth for a season or two.

That’s their likely path into the 2020-21 season (where the pick is unprotected) anyway, but trading Conley for a lotto talent now would shift the odds their rebuild/recovery happens sooner..

I think NOP probably gets the 6 for Jrue, then MEM has to hope they can send Conley to the Bulls for the 7..

was just thinking that as well. I think the issue, which reload alluded to, is that is will be hard to make the numbers work while maintaining the core guys.

I don't see how we could pull off both
