I don’t even know what this means. Draft whichever player you like. Pay the rookie salary for 1-4 years. If you like him after his rookie year, give him an extension and get him for less than what people paid unproven rookies in our initial draft. If you want to wait and see how he develops, give him an extension after year two or three and pay him less. There is financial suicide here considering a max extension for the #1 pick is like $130.
Or if you don’t like that, keep him 4 years and take your chances in free agency. No one is forcing you to give a player an extension. It’s just an option for teams who like their draft picks.
Or, you could just vote no.
