Only true Dubs fans would like to see KD/Klay/Curry/Draymond stick together for another 2-3 years. Only idiots, haters, non-Dubs fans, and media want to break up the four. Most media said they believe KD is leaving ...based on what? They're just saying it to make some news.

The Clippers seem to be one of the possible destinations if KD chose to leave. The Clippers also need to unload Gallinari in order to fit 2 max players. He is an expiring ~$22m but looks like teams with cap will require assets (their #1 pick? which will be ~20-30) to absorb the contract.

If KD is joining the Clippers, would you help facilitate by doing a sign and trade for Gallinari (probably without a pick attached because that is our selling point vs other teams selling their cap space)?

I probably might do it and feel pretty good against the KD+Kyrie Clippers with our team + Gallinari vs losing KD for nothing.

It will be a lot of tax but I also think Gallinari is better than any player we can get for MLE or min.

I wouldn't do it without a pick coming from the Clippers.

I do that it in a heart beat. Gallinari on the Warriors would be excellent.

If other teams with cap also will take on Gallinari with a pick, I am not sure why Doc/West/Ballmer would give us another rotation player instead of shipping him elsewhere.

That is why I think if it does happen, probably no pick incoming.

You would pass if you there is no pick coming?

I doubt they would trade him to us.

Keep KD but

Gallinari, Lou Williams and Shamet for KD.
Then the Clippers have cap space left to sign Kyrie.

I think Shamey quietly led the Clippers in plus minus vs the Warriors.
Luxury tax is the owners problem
Something back is better than nothing.

Iguodala, McKinnie, Klay and Gallinari at small forward.
Gallinari replaces Jerebko.

Shamet lets Klay play some small forward. Lou Williams is an upgrade on Quinn cook if he does not get old.

The Clippers would never do any of that. Shamet is on a rookie deal, under $2M, and they can dump the other two anywhere if they want to create space. Why would they strengthen the Warriors?

I basically agree with you.
I don't think KD is leaving but if he does go it would be nice to get something back.

I am not sure that Gallinari is worth his contract. The Clippers may have to pay something to get rid of Gallinari in order to sign another free agent. I am not sure signing Kyrie is good for teams but he is KD's friend. I can dream that the Clippers think adding Kyrie and KD make them better than the Warriors and all the other teams. Williams is getting old. I have doubts about Gallinari's defense. Do the Warriors want to pay luxurie tax on them? Through Shamet in to the deal and I like it. Since it isn't my money I guess I would be happy to have Gallinari straight up. I guess there is not reason for the Clippers to through inShamet.

The thing is, if the Clippers are trying to increase cap space so they can sign two max FAs (which I'm sure they are), they can't take back any salary. If they trade Gallinari ($22M), even with Williams ($8M), for Durant ($38M), they're losing cap space. They have to trade Gallinari for draft picks, for instance, so they don't take back salary. If they can do that, their cap space goes from the 50s to 70s millions, room for two max contracts. The trick will be to find a taker, which might not be hard, with all the cap space around the league.

KD would be crazy to leave this team, but if he does and still wants the max wouldn't it have to be a sign and trade?

If the Knicks are his team the #3 pick, Mitchell Robinson and a Ntilikina would be a good starting point.

In a sign-and-trade he loses Bird rights and can only sign a Warrior contract for the same amount he could sign with any other team. So there's no advantage to Durant to sign-and-trade.

When you are in a foxhole injured like this team, it tends to create unbreakable bonds.

I'm sure of only one thing: the Knicks are still going to be a disaster until they get better ownership. If you want to know what that looks like, see LeBron-to-Lakers and the unholy mess they've got there. And LA had a good coach and some pretty decent young players. The Knicks don't. So whatever Durant chooses to do, I hope for his sake that he stays away from NY.

Actually, as a Ws fan, if he leaves I guess I WANT him to go to NY, because they're not going to threaten anyone for a long time.

Please God. It makes to much sense. Just one more year to get 4 straight in a brand new stadium.

Nothing is official "until the fat lady sings"....or KD confirms it himself. I want to just ignore this because I don't want to get my hopes up only to be even more disappointed.
