Anybody see the play Looney got hurt on? He looked like he got hit by a freight train. His whole body flipped in the air.
Kawhi is a freaking cyborg.

Looney died. Watching Klay trying to initiate contact on a three and landing like a weird grasshopper and tweaking his $hit was funky to watch. I hate offensive wussies that create contact. If I’m a defender and you jump into me on a jumper and kick your leg out to swipe me, the next time I’m sending you to the ground. Today’s players have no desire to seek revenge. It’s sickening!

Agree on Looney. I think Kawhi's hit killed him. Hitting the ground resuscitated him.
On OverKlayted, I think (a) he drifted into Green's path seeking contact/foul call, (b) kicked his legs unnaturally trying to be extra, (c) underestimated how much the contract would throw him off and (d) ended up tweaking his own sh*t.

I don't wish anyone to get hurt but yeah that was definitely some karma there. And i think it came right after Steph jumped backward into Siakam for a 'foul'. NBA really needs to crack down on that stuff. The new flopping rules have helped some. they could do something similar for 'offensive flops'

It’s was clever and original when guys like Chris Mullin did this in the late 80’s/early 90’s because he would actually trick the defender into jumping in the air, and then jumping into them.
These new school players hunt out a denfender and physically fall into them before the defender is even airborne.
The NBA needs to start rewarding players for jumping straight up and down on defense with their arms are stationary.
This is weak sauce at its best imo. I’m just waiting for Ibaka or OG Anunoby to club a sCurry.

The RingerHow a Middle School Defensive Tactic Explains These NBA Finals
The Toronto Raptors basically used a middle school tactic in Game 2 of this year’s NBA Finals, opting to run a box-and-one defense Sunday against the Golden State Warriors
The box-and-one is a defensive approach primarily designed to stop one player. It’s most commonly used in youth basketball, since while it does a good job of containing one opposing player, it does an awful job of guarding the other four.
Here’s the ridiculous thing: It worked. Toronto ran its first box-and-one trailing 106-97 with 4:26 left in the fourth quarter. Stephen Curry, the target of the box-and-one, didn’t attempt a shot for the rest of the game, as tireless defender and playoff god Fred VanVleet hounded him from baseline to baseline. The other Warriors missed their next six field goal attempts and committed a turnover as the Raptors scored seven unanswered points to slice the deficit to 106-104.
It’s possible that we just saw the only five minutes of box-and-one defense that’ll ever be played in the modern NBA. In a postgame press conference, Raptors head coach Nick Nurse essentially admitted the box-and-one was drawn up on the spot. The box-and-one probably isn’t the answer from here on out.

He has Curry and KD's jersey numbers tatted on him, I was wondering why he had a sweatband on during game 1 to go along with the jersey as if he was going to jump in the game... but it was to just hide how much of a groupie he is.

I think the NBA is encouraging this Drake stuff. Adds a sideshow for people who don't really care about basketball. Let's face it this is just reality show stuff. It makes Spike Lee / Reggie Miller almost look like a real feud....almost

Seriously can somebody shop me back into the 80’s? I’m good with Urkel and Different Stokes and Nique ripping one down on someone’s head any given night.

Finals could've been a sweep. TOR has dominated all but maybe of the 12 quarters so far.

I do get a chuckle thinking about the Warriors being on the other end of the injury bug for once.

Funny you mentioned that. I just happen to be on the general board and a warrior fan had an image of ASTERISKS all big and glowing. Ironic.

I mean yea, Dubs fans on here were quick to call foul when the Karate Kid, sorry, I meant Draymond was suspended for only one game when they blew a 3-1 Finals lead but stay mum whenever people mentioned Kawhi, Paul, Kyrie, or Love missing almost entire series that they won.

Yup. Called this the revenge of Kawhi series. 2 years ago they were up a bundle in game one and our ole friend took him out. Airspace and whatnot.I told a friend whose a Warrior fan that you’ll have to literally kill Kawhi to get this series. The last three vs the Bucks were scary. He needs to end it now though.

I know, and it's kind of great that Kawhi is STILL hampered by that same injury yet is going hard to knock off the Dubs. He's the Revenant...

After Kawhi hoists up the FMVP, If I'm Zaur I'm taking an extended vacation or putting 6 inches of steel behind every entrance... Detroit is a short flight from Toronto. Pop otoh is probably sitting in a robe in front of the fireplace, glass of wine in hand waiting on the inevitable: "I knew you'd come for me after... after I heard about Tony. Go on then, do your duty."
