*Ahem*
Cousins came up huge in the IRL NBA Finals for game 2.

Also, I have to note I have a championship Warriors center rotation:
Cousins | Looney | Jones

So for obvious stars like Ayton and Doncic, you get them for 6 cheap years, guys that take a couple years you can still get a full 7 years out of, the last few just cost you more

I do like this wrinkle K-DOT. Bish, can we add this to your proposal as a compromise?
I spoke with K-DOT about this and told him that I liked his idea and would be willing to add something along these lines. But I felt it was important to get something in place before our draft so he will propose an amendment to the extension rule (if it passes) later on in the summer when we are not so pressed for time.

Why should you be punished for picking a player that takes more time to develop?
Sent from my SM-G965U using RealGM mobile app
your not being punished your just having to pay closer to market value as opposed to getting a bargain. most people are looking at this extension idea as a one sided issue, and that is at a GM prospective at locking up your good young players at a cheap rate. While i think we should have a balance and think of this from a players prospective as well, most of these player that pan out would laugh at these extensions and test restricted free agency. This just involves teams managing there cap and be ready and have space to match offer sheets that could be in excess of 5-15% of cap.
You just want more guys to hit RFA so you can bid their price up to screw over everyone else. Anything under $200 in the first year of an extension for a allstar rookie is ridiculously cheap.

Like I said, pay market value and lock them up for an extra 5 years, so that's essentially the extension,
What's a proper extension? You mean like cap holds and being able to still resign rookies while being over the cap? Factoring in whether or not a player made the All NBA or All Star team and if they are eligible for bonuses? Man aint nobody got time for all that stuff
Proper extension meaning extending without taking hits on your current deal, arent extensions always come in effect after initial contract is up?
Right, and you can still do that. You don't have to take a hit on your current deal, just wait until after the contract is up and pay market value for 5 years.
Thanks for the new rule I can do exactly just that

Pooch, I came up with this because there was a call for it. I put the rule change proposal out there nearly three weeks ago for people to look at. The only one who objected at the time was smash. I don’t care if you have a problem or not because I understand that you will never get 30 people to agree 100% on everything.
I’ve tried listening and understanding your position for the last four days because it is the exact opposite stance that anyone else who has had a problem with the proposal has taken. I have no issue with you voicing your dislike for what I came up with and have told you to simply vote it down and majority will rule.
What I can’t have is a GM who has no interest in the game. That will take away from everyone and the league in general so since you no longer have interest, than yes, I will look to replace you.
Loool at the logic of you can do and say whatever you want but I am taking your team away whenever I want without your consent

This isn’t about “market value” really for the players. You can’t really compare it to our initial draft when everyone had $1000 to spend and what the market was two years ago.
With a hard cap the players will never truly get what they can get in the real NBA so to compare what an outlier like Siakam will get doesn’t add up in our game.

Re: BaF Season Two: Finals/Offseason thread (Two spots open for 2019-20 season)
BAF is meant to be for us to have fun playing it. Everyone who's been through the initial draft knew in advance that the initial rules would need improvements with time, and most rule changes would be voted. It would be easier for Bish just to create a new rule and implement it without hearing to GMs' opinion, but he prefers to bring new ideas to public, wait for suggestions and then submit most of new rules to GMs' approval. This is called democracy. I've never seen Bish being authoritarian, and he's the only guy in the game who could be one, since he CREATED ALL THIS and If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't be playing BAF now. But he isn't. He's always open to discussions and I'm sure everything he does is for the better of BAF as a whole, even if I don't agree on everything (and I don't!) It would be much easier for him to just not create BAF and spend his time with his family or having fun doing something else, but he's done it for others to have fun, too. And the amount of BAF related work he may have at the moment is insane! Are we really gonna give him extra work to run a game for 30 guys to have fun ALL FOR FREE?
The extension rule isn't perfect. It has problems, but it's better than having no extensions. He's already said he will include K-DOT's idea later. Having an extension rule is a big improvement and adjusting it to K-DOT's idea will be another big improvement. But let's walk step by step and try to enjoy the game as much as possible. Let's vote the extension rule as Bish suggested and express our agreement or disagreement by voting YES or NO. Simple. Majority wins. But let's also be grateful for what Bish has done so far for BAF, let's not forget he's just trying to make it better for all of us.
