As it stands he's the fourth best offensive point guard in the league individually and bad defensively. He's a guy that doesn't do anything for your offensive system except prevent movement. He's been bad for chemistry even though I could clearly see and respect why he'd bolt Cleveland. He's not automatically taking you to the promised land. See how the two best defensive teams are now in the Finals. We should make sure to try to go after other players first. Boston might run better offense with him out. Klay and Kawhi don't appear available, but Jimmy might be. I'd go after those guys.

Plus, those guys are not half as pathetic as this dude.

Nice to see the board here getting behind the Jrue/AD tandem but when I suggested this idea some months ago, it was with the idea that we’d have Zion (pick 1) & Pelicans wouldn’t even be in the top 5.

I think Pels end up trading Jrue separate. Maybe even to one of these teams that need a PG. I know Jrue’s a “SG” now but he’s been PG more in his career. Hell, I could see the Suns offering that 6th pick for Jrue.

jrue is just a really good guard. can initiate offense. can play off the ball. for some reason he doesn't love the primary ballhandler role. but i believe in guards being guards, to be honest.

can we ever see a clyde/pearl type of situation again?

I’ve officially gone all in on the AD tip - if he is willing to sign an extension

If we land kd then he and ad will be the best duo in the league and both are in their primes. With ad being only 25.

The neat thing about getting BOTH AD and JH in one trade is you can go over cap with the 120% rule for both contracts. That means you can sign KD and some other players and then send back approximately 42.5 mill dollars worth of contracts for both of them together.

Jrue is a good character guy and good defender who can play either SG or PG. Add that to KD and some role players, ring chasers that is a heck of a team.

There's a lot to love about Kyrie (his game-changing handle, shooting, big-game history, and the fact that he's from NJ), but man, he has me extremely nervous when thinking about a max contract wedding. Individually, all the negatives about him (injury, defense, personality, how things played out in BOS, latest rumors about NBA FO apprehension, etc) can be rationalized or pushed aside, but when you start stacking them on top of each other they - rightly or wrongly - make me more cautious about giving Irving a max than any other major FA. And that includes the ones that he's obviously better than.

I'm not saying I'm sure it would play out as the right move, but I'd feel more comfortable giving Middleton or Harris a max than I would Kyrie, given what we've seen of the latter over the last year or so.

If Kyrie guarantees Durant, then it's worth every penny to me. But the Irving side of that equation would still make me nervous.

And we should all be okay with AD/KD and Kyrie. At no point in Knicks history had we ever had 2 top 5 players and another top 20 player. Not during the Ewing days or the 2 Knicks championship that when none of us were born.

From a purely Basketball standpoint that would be amazing. Kawhi and Durant would be among the top tandems in NBA history. Not the best but among them. Now you add AD to the mix?

He is a top 5 asset since he is 26 and just entering his prime years. He does it all. No glaring holes in his game.
