Trade whomever. Pay whoever. Just don't be the worst team in the league for the 5th straight year.

I can't see Houston using Tucker or Gordon as a salary dump. They are still trying to compete. Simply shaking things up a bit.
Bucks fans are talking about Middleton (S&T) for Tucker and Gordon. We can't come close to competing with that.

I'm hoping the Nets end up trading for Anthony Davis, and then being able to sign Kyrie and possibly KD. We'd need to find a way to keep Oubre while also getting D'Lo. We'd have a very fun and exciting team for years to come.

I just don't see the numbers working out unless he took a lower deal.

I'm not interested in dealing TJ for anyone on the Rockets not named Harden. But I would be interested in dealing Warren for a couple rotation players, if they're the right players.

I think TJ's on the verge of breaking out. I just don't think he wants to be here.

If we can pull off #6 + Johnson for Jrue and our second rounder for PJ our starting line-up would have a much needed influx of grid.

Jrue / Melton (or Okobo)
Book / Bridges
Oubre / TJ /Bridges
PJ / TJ
Ayton /Holmes

I would do Tucker/Gordon for Johnson/Bucks 1st. Looks like the Rockets are going to rebuild (Dantoni seems to be out, reports about Houston having a bit of a fire sale). This would get them out of an extra year of Tucker basically and give them a late 1st for it.

I dont think we can get Jrue, so im going to skip that and go straight for my man PatBev. Throw the capspace at PatBev and let him know we mean business!

After that, Re-ink Oubre and Holmes. Draft BPA.

PatBev/Melton
Booker/Gordon
Oubre/Bridges
PJ/TJ
Ayton/Holmes

PatBev helps cover up Bookers defensive liabilities, PJ helps cover Aytons defensive shortcomings, and Oubre is pretty even. When Bookers resting, Gordon is in and scoring in his place. Bridges subs in for Oubre and TJ brings a bit more firepower off the bench behind Tucker.

I like it, but probably need to include 32

No way the Rockets do that trade.

The moment they do that the moment Harden asks for a trade.

I just don't think rotation players would fill the hole TJ would leave. There aren't many players who can score like him, shoot like him, on a great contract, and constantly improve their game. The rotational player would have to be close to TJ's numbers while out rebounding him significantly.

I just don't know if he wants to be here or not. He is a pretty quiet guy. I think he is getting better and would prefer to keep him. Again, I see him as a very solid 6th man that can come in and score. Thats a skill set in the NBA. And its a skill needed on the Suns.

Doesn't mean I wouldnt trade him - just would need to see the construction of the team

As for Tucker/Gordon - I think PJ is awesome. Just not sure how the Suns get him unless its a pure salary dump trade. Meaninga future 2nd for Tucker.

Free agency is going to be wild. There are LOTS of teams with lots of money. But Adam Silver just said that 40% of the players in the league right now will be free agents this summer.

Absolutely. Plus next year's class is looking fairly weak so some of these teams that have saved up money are going to feel like the HAVE to spend it. Great year to be a 2nd tier FA like Kris Middleton and Tobias Harris because they will probably get maxed by some teams who strike out on that first wave.

Suns might need to be patient but at the same time, like you said, teams will miss and overpay. So, should they be aggressive with players like PatBev to get a guy or should they wait and see if the market develops and opportunities arise a day or two into free agency.

PG seems like the spot where you could choose to wait and grab someone for a decent price once the dust settles. It's super deep with at least playable vets. PF seems thinner so if they want to grab a starter that's probably the spot you have to target earlier.

Now the draft and trades could change this outlook over the next few weeks.

Neither Spalding or Jimmers contracts are guaranteed correct? So thats like 3.4 mil in contracts that we can trade or add into a trade that the receiving team could just cut and save every penny of the money right?? Thats how it works right?

Edit: Never mind, think I just answered my own question. Espn trade machine says you cant trade a player who's contract is ending or could end due to an early termination option.

I could see a few scenarios to get cap space involving JR Smith’s contract. Trade Johnson, Bucks pick, 2020 1st (top 6 protected) for Smith. Huge gamble that we actually sign DLo or even someone else with the cap space.

That’s a lot for the JR contract. But they might be able to get as Miami might want the Jr contract too and there pick will be higher than the Bucks pick.

OKC might move the 21 plus Shroeder for JR and Zizic

That would be a huge overpay. Simply stretching Johnson creates about 13 mil so that's two 1st rounders for just 7 mil in space.

True, maybe we can move Jackson instead along with stretching Johnson. That creates more cap space than trading Johnson for Smith.

For sure. They might move Jackson for space just to clear him from the team but other than that they shouldn't be making any space clearing trades that include giving up picks unless they have an impact FA completely locked up. Doing it with just the HOPE of signing someone is foolish when you're a bad team.

I might be amenable to JR Zizic for Tyler and the Bucks pick. But as was said - there would need to be some strong signals of players signing. And not just hoping

I would not give up more than the Bucks pick and certainly not a 2020 Suns pick even with protection
