True, maybe we can move Jackson instead along with stretching Johnson. That creates more cap space than trading Johnson for Smith.
For sure. They might move Jackson for space just to clear him from the team but other than that they shouldn't be making any space clearing trades that include giving up picks unless they have an impact FA completely locked up. Doing it with just the HOPE of signing someone is foolish when you're a bad team.

I might be amenable to JR Zizic for Tyler and the Bucks pick. But as was said - there would need to be some strong signals of players signing. And not just hoping

I would not give up more than the Bucks pick and certainly not a 2020 Suns pick even with protection

What are we creating all this cap space for, again?

D'lo needs to be our #1 priority.

Near-all-star level PG who's under 25 and BFF's with Devin Booker?

Iverson was a great scorer. Stackhouse was a great scorer. Together, they sucked.

Please, more well-rounded players, more depth, less $$$, more flexibility, and keep the long-term in view.

The Suns are going to need - more than likely 15-18m of cap space to get PF and PG. Maybe they make trades. But things will need to happen to get a PG and PF that are not draft picks.

Second -- as I stated - only making a move for cap space if there are STRONG signals the team needs it. But the JR Smith trade does need to happen by 6/30.

The best move would be to trade for a PG, stay over the tax, and then use the Standard MLE to sign a PF. If we go under the cap the Room MLE won't be enough to sign a starting position of need. I was hoping it would, but looking at the numbers, it won't.

It is an interesting thought though. I just don't see us being able to give him anything he would want. I think he is a decent passer, but I don't think he fills a need, nor puts us in a better position to make the playoffs.

Once the lakers wash out with everyone else they will offer him a max contract so that they can show their fans that they really did make a splash in the free agent market.

I've always thought this is who the Lakers will end up with as I could see him willing to go there and them striking out on everyone else. I'm surprised you never hear it with the talking heads though. I could also possibly see Butler. Butler, Lebron, and Boogie could make noise if Durant goes East.

If we can pull off #6 + Johnson for Jrue and our second rounder for PJ our starting line-up would have a much needed influx of grid.

Jrue / Melton (or Okobo)
Book / Bridges
Oubre / TJ /Bridges
PJ / TJ
Ayton /Holmes

I would do Tucker/Gordon for Johnson/Bucks 1st. Looks like the Rockets are going to rebuild (Dantoni seems to be out, reports about Houston having a bit of a fire sale). This would get them out of an extra year of Tucker basically and give them a late 1st for it.

I dont think we can get Jrue, so im going to skip that and go straight for my man PatBev. Throw the capspace at PatBev and let him know we mean business!

After that, Re-ink Oubre and Holmes. Draft BPA.

PatBev/Melton
Booker/Gordon
Oubre/Bridges
PJ/TJ
Ayton/Holmes

PatBev helps cover up Bookers defensive liabilities, PJ helps cover Aytons defensive shortcomings, and Oubre is pretty even. When Bookers resting, Gordon is in and scoring in his place. Bridges subs in for Oubre and TJ brings a bit more firepower off the bench behind Tucker.

Awesome!!!

You've done it again man....
That'd be a very competitive team with a lot of grit. We'd just need to add a bit more perimeter shooting if possible. But very likely a playoff team.

Trade down with Atlanta for 8 and 10 then trade 8 for Dinwiddie/16/Williams, draft Clarke with 10, use MLE/Bucks pick/16 to S&T for Kleber. We don't need an all star PG, just a Fisher to Kobe and Shaq.

Dinwiddie/Melton/Okobo
Booker/Johnson
Oubre/Bridges
Kleber/Clarke/Bender
Ayton/Williams

We'd probably use him as a stretch 4. That way his legs don't get heavily impacted by playing the post. Defensively...forget it.

I do think he could be had for a 1 year deal for 10mil-ish

I bet he has very limited interest this off season and doesn't get much money. Not something we need or would want I'm sure.

If true that doesn't shock me. I'm sure Spencer would love to start and play an even bigger role than he does now.

If the nets do sign DLo and Kyrie then they probably should at least take calls on dinwiddie. By no means to they have to move him but they could see some diminishing returns with 3 guys who can play off the ball but all prefer to have in their hands.

Do we really want any of the Nets point guards? None of them can play defense. Offensively it would probably look good, but defensively (back court with Book) - sheesh... Ayton can't protect the rim either, so all of this is a recipe for disaster. I would rather continue rolling with Tyler Johnson than Russell or Dinwiddie.

Out of curiosity, how much cap space will you guys likely have this offseason?
