The idea that money can buy you out of any meaningful consequence is nothing new, but still really frustrating.

Imagine going to a basketball game and seeing a player dive for the ball and getting annoyed to the point of yelling obscenities and pushing them... Then imagine owning a part of the team and doing it! Talk about out of touch with life.

No matter the player or team, your average human's instinct would be to make sure everyone is okay. Not surprised this guy has a lot of money, just another rich tinman.

Really what the NBA should be doing is moving the seats back. I always cringe when I see a player dive into the seats like that. Somethingreally bad is going to happen to a player or fan eventually. It's not safe for anyone.

I clicked this thread hoping to see jokes/memes and instead we're doing the public freak out thing. Here's my unpopular opinion: Lowry pancaked a fan at full speed, and that owner was trying to push him off. I'm sure he also told him to GTFO as many fans have told many opposing players before him.

Should the owner have been removed? Probably. Anytime a player thinks a fan went at him that fan should be removed and the incident investigated. Permanently banning him for putting his hand on Lowry to try and push him off another fan who Lowry was crushing shouldn't be something we ban him for. At the very least I'd like to hear his side of the argument as well as testimony from surrounding fans.

Wtf, you don't touch a player ever. The fact that this guy is a minority owner makes this even worse.

Just to play devil's advocate, say it was a small child that Lowry had landed on and due to being tangled up in the chairs/fans he couldn't immediately get up. I don't know about you but if I'm sitting next to that and there's a screaming child being crushed I'd hurcules heave Lowry off of him/her. In this case, it was a man he landed on who didn't get hurt and wound up helping Lowry back up, and so the owner shouldn't have done anything. He was in the wrong but people are suggesting permanent bans and being pressured to sell his shares. That feels like a huge overreaction to me.

Sorry - it wasn't a small child, and even if it was you don't push him and tell him to F-off, you jump to your feet and rush to help him off and turn your attention immediately to the child. This is not at all what happened, and you're just purposely trying to stretch reality to try to justify something that has no justification.

He acted like a moron, and given his age, role, and understanding of the risks of sitting courtside should be treated accordingly. This was an assault, and would have been viewed that way had the roles been reversed. He should be relieved of his role and banned from NBA games.

Then don't bring a small CHILD to a 30,000 + seat where you literally SIGN a waiver knowing that you can be hit at anytime by the players. Hes allowed to dive for that ball, it shows that he is trying to win. If you went into a restaurant and started pushing waiters don't you think you would be banned from that restaurant??
