Taurean Prince

So he got traded for two FRP and a bad contract

Could the Pacers not have beaten that offer?

I've said before, that Taurean Prince is an excellent fit with the team and could be had via trade

It upsets me that he's headed to the Nets instead of the Pacers

I thought two first rounders was kind of a steep price for the Nets to pay to be honest, although they were probably more after the cap space.

If we could have sent McDermott and the 18th, I wish we would have done it

Guys, Brooklyn paid the 17 to dump Crabbe’s salary and then included a future lotto protected first for Prince

Could we have given up the 18 for him? Sure. That’s not quite the move the Hawks looked for for him though. But if you wanted him, you could’ve traded out of this draft for him.

Would’ve taken another 1st if we wanted to dump salary on them to do the deal, too, as you see in the Brooklyn deal.

I like Prince but he only has 1 year left on his contract. Trading a 1st round pick for a potential 1 year rental would concern me, trading multiple 1st round picks would really concern me.

I don't see how the Pacers could beat that. 2 number 1's and Allan Crabbe, we don't have an Allan Crabbe to send them, and 2 #1 picks?

Now if you wanted to eat Crabbe's deal we could have gotta the 2 #1's after the start of the new season. But that doesn't get Prince to the Pacers.

Maybe some kind of deal could be made with Brooklyn to get him from them? But since we are rumored to be a suitor for Russell I'd say that's unlikely.

Well Nets gave a FRP as incentive for Hawks to eat Crabbe's contract, so if we don't need to dump a Crabbe to them, value wise it's just a FRP with perhaps a SRP thrown in to sweeten the deal?

Yeah. In theory, if you want to trade the 18 for Prince, it’s possible that could’ve happened. Hard to say though as the deal was tied in so tightly with the Crabbe salary dump so hard to say how, or of, a solo Prince deal would be valued or work.
