Why are we so eager to take close looks at these wings? I get doing diligence and all, but... what's the f'ing plan here?

Every team does this as a way to start building a more detailed scouting report.

OK how about this. Why would Barrett agree to a workout with us unless there was some reasonable chance that we would select him? We're out of his draft range. Does his agent have some reason to believe we might trade up?

I've been watching drafts closely for 20 years. Culver is one thing, but Barrett is another. This strikes me as unusual.

Agreed, I just think that it's odd, unless as you stated, He and his agent might have some inside information regarding a trade up scenario with the suns. And as a result, He's showing the suns what they are investing in? ( by trading up).

I'm taking it as more of a sign of how weak/unpredictable this draft is. Outside of Zion, no one is a guaranteed lock at any position. Grizzlies might not even take Ja at 2. So perhaps players are more inclined to workout with many teams just in case they do end up sliding further than mock drafts have them slated.

Lol yeah that makes sense. Was going to say I'm surprised I hadn't seen more made about this on Twitter but figured maybe it was because there was a finals game going on.

I will say this.. good. The thought of trading up for Barrett a guy I'm just not that high on was a scary one. Like if the suns were sitting at 3 then I guess I could talk myself into his upside but to trade real assets to move up to get him. Yeah that's a hard pass for me.

Well, SunsNation's tweet did, but I don't know what this guy's deleted tweet had in it....I doubt he is lying since people saw it.

Interesting that he tries to imitate Jamal Crawford's game a bit.

Culver and Hunter are both wing players, but they are really different. Culver wants the ball in his hands and loves to create for himself or for his teammates.

Hunter is more an off the ball wing player, a bit bigger and with potential as an elite 3-and-D player.

Hopefully James Jones and Monty Williams are not scared about drafting a player who is not a perfect fit on our team but is the BPA.

ATL secured the #17 pick from the Nets for Crabbe. That means they now have the #8,10,17,35,41, and 42nd picks. I smell a trade coming. There is no way they draft 6 players in this draft.

6 for 10 + 17!
Take Clarke and use 17 in a package for someone like Dinwiddie.

I don't care what we do as long as we draft Brandon Clarke.

It would be odd though, and a bit funny to trade them back their #17 pick. Plus we would have to wait for FA period to start I think, for them to trade Din's contract. It would all depend on who they pick up in FA, and what needs they may have. They just picked up TPrince in that Crabbe trade.

As far as the ATL trading partner, I would still want to do a different package. Maybe the 6th, 32nd and the Milw pick for the 8 and 10. That way they get a 1st for next year, while still having two 1st round picks this year. They can then package many of those second rounders for someone else, or draft and stash players for the future.

Then we can make some choices of possible trades and drafting a player we may want. For example moving trading the 8th with salary fillers for a starting point guard, and draft Clarke with the 10th pick. Then use our Standard MLE for a starting PF, since we will most likely still be over the cap.

This is just way off in terms of value. The #8 and #6 are barely different in terms of value. They're basically trading the #10 for the MIL pick. Come on, RDG. You're smart than this.
