I think the difference most are pointing out is that the Knicks got assets back while the Nets lost a lot more than they gained to open the space...

I don't think it's hot-takey to point that out.

Nets got Allen with the pick from the deal that they sent for Crabbe

Still a bad deal b/c Crabbe never panned out, but in the whole cycle from when they first made the RFA offer to now, they did get a starter level C plus they got Prince.

Also, the Knicks liquidated a top 10 (top 5 IMO) 25 & under prospect to get those assets and do their salary dumps.

It’s not an apples to apples comparison.

The difference is we have traded our best player to open space and still gained assets.

They had to give assets away to open space and will have to let his best player go for nothing.

Maybe our primary motivation was because he demanded a trade and not because we wanted to open space

We shed 2 bad contracts, traded an injured player who wanted out and got 2 expirings, DSJ on a rookie deal, and 2 picks lol

No way the old knicks would of been so savage. Im trusting Scott 100%.

Yep, however certain folks will stumble over themselves heaping praise on other teams no matter what

We traded just some “injured player”?

The take is skewed big time

Yeah but the Nets made their move when Kyrie is already our of the playoffs and later in the process when players have had more time to think and talk to each other about other teams and where they'd want to go and whatever else. So if there is any truth to either team knowing anything i'd give the edge to the Nets on that one, but like you said maybe nobody knows shyt and they're just taking a shot.

Yes but that was Knicks last chance to maximize Porzingis.
The Nets may let Russell walk yet never maximizing his asset value.

How would you feel if we still had Hardaway and Lee on the books and Porzingis cap hold with 32mil in cap space? I wouldn’t feel good about the future of this team. Porzingis is either coming back on a 4 year 110mil deal after after an ACL tear or a QO where he walks away for free at seasons send.

Would you have traded Lee and 2 1st to clear another 13mil to get where the Nets did today? Would be in the same position.

You can argue ownership but player for player asset by asset the Knicks are in a better position then the Nets for 2 max FAs and going forward

DSJr - Napier
Trier - LaVert
Knox/Frank - Prince
Mitch - Allen

Pick 3 - ...
Mav picks - ...

But the media would tell you Nets have everything and Knicks have nothing. Lol

More like certain folks stumble and fumble to deny reality.

But that’s par for the course

Funny how 1 playoff win in a top heavy conference during an overachieving season amounts to such playoff ready & experienced pieces.

Teams don't know. They make these clear cap trades to give themselves a chance. That's it. It's not the first time. Remember how teams made these moves in 2010 to give themselves a chance at LeBron and ended up with nothing?

At the end of the day, the Nets have a decent young core with two max slots and so do we. I think RJ and Mitch plus the Dallas picks makes our situation better, and we have MSG which still means something. Whatever happens happens, but I don't see yesterday's trade making the Nets a bigger threat in FA right now.

Yeah I don't get the Brooklyn love either. I think it has more to do with hating the Knicks and wanting their neighbors to do better.

As long as the Knicks suck, any positivity coming out of the Nets front is going to be magnified. You saw that Woj specifically referenced the Knicks in his tweet yesterday. He knows what he's doing.

You're right about the primary motivation. They had to strike if what they said is true.

They did the best they could given the crappy hand they were dealt that was dealt in the first place b/c of the crappy landscape they had built.

Knicks should target Diangelo Russel and Tobias Harris with their cap space. It’ll be a positive step towards making the playoffs again.

He def favors some organizations over others.

IDGAF about the negative vs positive spin (we got negative spin even when we were good) and I don't think major FAs will either.

At least that's the hope.

Lance Thomas must be on any AD package... Let them pay the guaranteed money while we save at least two youngsters...

Knox, Barrett, Dotson, Lance, Jenkins, Dallas two picks and one of our own pick for AD

Smith / Ntilikina
D.Green / Trier
Leonard / Ennis
Durant / Carmelo
Davis / Robinson
Strength and Honour!

Who said that? Max? Woj?

Did they also that they might be bring back the battle tested veteran Carroll? The media loves the adjectives.

Yea I was going to say I can't imagine KD having a meeting with us and letting the media bias sway him. His preconceived plan and his meeting with us will determine what he does, not Woj stroking the fire.
