By far the best talent outside of Zion. That injury sucks but I will take this gamble easily. But knowing Ainge he will most likely take another tough, defensive minded wing without any natural offensive skill.

Bol Bol makes Greg Monroe look like an all-NBA defender

Except he had a pretty insane numbers in basically every defensive statistical measurement during his limited college stint. Monore could only dream about having such an impact.

Im not drafting for stars in this draft as I’m not confident in anyone beyond Zion and Ja. I’m drafting players with role playing floors that have shown a history of working their ass off— guys like Brandon Clarke, NAW orGrant Williams that will come in, work hard, fit a role and continue to grow.

I see this draft as similar to 2004 for the Celtics. We can take a higher upside guy at 14 [like Al Jefferson at 15], but we should really be focused on finding great role players like Tony Allen or Delonte West with our picks in the 20’s.

I could care less about these pre draft videos. I never watch them. For me Yabs was a scrub.

FWIW I think Alexander-Walker is a good bet to go to Miami at 13, and if we don't take him at 14, a good bet not to last until 20.

The optimistic take on Nickeil is that he's smart enough to do well even with athletic limitations. Good handles, dribbles with his head up, good court awareness, good reads on both sides of the ball, recognizes openings in the defense as plays unfold, and he's very creative in finishing at the rim. Don't know if that will transfer to the NBA, but he *could* be a guy who can get away with being a little slow because he sees the game in slow motion.

He had a 94.6 Drtg this year, fwiw, the lowest on the team, and the team rating was a 95.6. Some of that's because they played a zone where he could stand and watch, but..

He’s a taller, early career Delonte West with better size and defensive ability.

I want Nickeil— I think itd be cool if both the Celts and the Pats added a N’Keal/Nickeil with their top picks.

IBefore I had Clarke, Goga/Kabangele, and Edwards. Now I'm going Edwards and THT.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

if we still have Kyrie and Horford than taking role players who can contribute right away would be ideal as we'll need to replace our lost free agents. However, if we lose them and are essentially close to having to go on a full rebuild, I'd rather not take the next Kelly Olynyk over a potential Giannis. The real issue is Ainge has never successfully drafted a project who turned out to be a star

I could see Orlando taking him too. Fultz is such a question mark, and NAW can play alongside as a playmaking 2 or take over in a pinch when Augustin isn't out there if Fultz flames out. But, he's not direct competition to Fultz, so it's kinda hedging your bet a little. Though, it wouldn't shock me for them to take Tacko Fall either. Hammond loves wingspan.

I feel like at this point Sekou is anywhere between 5 and 10. We'd need to trade up if we're drafting for ourselves.
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.
