It is pretty simple why Kahwi will have to consider remaining in TO:

The GM and the Coach, in that order.

Kahwi is still young enough that a good GM can continue evolving the supporting roster around him and keep the team in contention every year during Kahwi's prime. Kahwi has no guarantee any other club can provide that when Masai has already proven it to him by getting plenty of two way role players who are delivering in crunch time. The Clippers and the Knicks can't give him the same level of confidence this would happen under their watch, so big advantage for TO there.

And Nurse looks like a solid coach to stay married to now.

When you add in the other factors of:

Kahwi already owns the city and has to feel appreciated
He won't get greater glory now elsewhere
The team could actually get better with another player or two
He won't get paid more elsewhere

the only true factor that gives other teams a chance is that Kahwi may want to live in their city instead of Toronto

It would be pretty awesome if we signed KD, let Boston shoot their shot with an AD trade, then steal him away next off season. Lots of risk of course, but I would hate to force a 2nd max right away.

Kemba is from the Bronx. Grew up a Knick fan. But tbh, this isn’t surprising. I think him going to a team like the Hornets helped his career. He doesn’t need nor crave that type of extra attention.

Most players of Durant's level have a massive self-image, so I believe this dissed by Warrior's GM did it. It sealed it for Durant's departure.

I think these rumors are surfacing about Kyrie to the Nets because word has got around that Durant will stay in Golden State. This series is a wrap, and Durant wants to return to help this team and win.

The sources are saying Kyrie is favored to go to the Nets. There has not been any sources about Durant going to the Nets, only the garbage on the General Board. I thought it was pretty clear that the Knicks didn't want Irving unless it got them Durant. Irving might have taken that as a slight, but that's another issue. Nets might be the only team willing to give Irving a full max and make him their #1.

But why would Kevin Durant return? Lettuce be real, it's pretty obvious:

1) He gets to return and prove to the fans that the Warriors do need him
2) More money
3) His chance of winning more championships is still greatest with staying with Golden State than any other team.

You’re right about that. They’re more concerned with sticking it to Knicks fans than the possible bright future they have.

I don’t remember anyone all year mentioning BKN fans once as we discussed the possibilities. Why the fuq would that be a goal? If my team has a chance to be a contender with major signings in the upcoming FA, the last thing I care about is how other fans can suck it.
