Re: Offseason Thread Continued - Atlanta Got Crabbes and We're Panicking
It is pretty simple why Kahwi will have to consider remaining in TO:
The GM and the Coach, in that order.
Kahwi is still young enough that a good GM can continue evolving the supporting roster around him and keep the team in contention every year during Kahwi's prime. Kahwi has no guarantee any other club can provide that when Masai has already proven it to him by getting plenty of two way role players who are delivering in crunch time. The Clippers and the Knicks can't give him the same level of confidence this would happen under their watch, so big advantage for TO there.
And Nurse looks like a solid coach to stay married to now.
When you add in the other factors of:
Kahwi already owns the city and has to feel appreciated
He won't get greater glory now elsewhere
The team could actually get better with another player or two
He won't get paid more elsewhere
the only true factor that gives other teams a chance is that Kahwi may want to live in their city instead of Toronto

If Ja falls to us, I am calling up Phoenix to trade down.
I’d also call up the Bulls as well.
The team that could give us Cam Reddish/DeAndre Hunter and an unprotected 2020 pick wins.
Add Nas to the mix also. I really think he’s gonna be a major steal

It would be pretty awesome if we signed KD, let Boston shoot their shot with an AD trade, then steal him away next off season. Lots of risk of course, but I would hate to force a 2nd max right away.

If the Hawks are really in love with Reddish we could then flip #6 to them for 10 and 17.
With those picks we could get Nas and possibly Romeo Langford.
Mitch
Knox
Nas
Langford
DSJ

It would be quite a move to spend one year with a team, win a ring and then out. Not sure if has anyone in the league lead three different franchises to championships. That's something Kawhi should consider.

Kemba is from the Bronx. Grew up a Knick fan. But tbh, this isn’t surprising. I think him going to a team like the Hornets helped his career. He doesn’t need nor crave that type of extra attention.
Ppl were against signing Kemba since 2017
I still remember saying he could be a target in 2019 in the THJ signing thread and the unanimous response was, well, not positive

Basketball gods seem to be pointing to the direction in DSJ steering the Knicks’ ship.
The bump in the road I see here is if the Grizzlies select RJ leaving us no choice but to take on Ja.
I’ll be pissed if we get Ja. Not saying he isn’t talented but RJ is the move
If Ja falls to us, I am calling up Phoenix to trade down.
There’s a few team we could call up if Ja falls to us
We could probably make a killing
Not sure how the fan base would react to that after a year of tanking

Nailed it.
Kd wants respect. It makes no sense at all for him to go back to GS if they lose.
GS losing without KD affirms everything kd was been toiling with internally. That he didn’t get respect from the fans, owner, or teammates; and that they needed him to win championships once teams forced them into half court offense.
Kd is not going back if they lose. It’s a perfect setup for him to leave and win a championship “on his own” and “with his own team”
Most players of Durant's level have a massive self-image, so I believe this dissed by Warrior's GM did it. It sealed it for Durant's departure.
Wow. First time seeing this.

KD shouldn't have to explain why he doesn't feel appreciated when you see garbage like that

Stannis wrote:I think these rumors are surfacing about Kyrie to the Nets because word has got around that Durant will stay in Golden State. This series is a wrap, and Durant wants to return to help this team and win.
The sources are saying Kyrie is favored to go to the Nets. There has not been any sources about Durant going to the Nets, only the garbage on the General Board. I thought it was pretty clear that the Knicks didn't want Irving unless it got them Durant. Irving might have taken that as a slight, but that's another issue. Nets might be the only team willing to give Irving a full max and make him their #1.
But why would Kevin Durant return? Lettuce be real, it's pretty obvious:
1) He gets to return and prove to the fans that the Warriors do need him
2) More money
3) His chance of winning more championships is still greatest with staying with Golden State than any other team.
You’re right about that. They’re more concerned with sticking it to Knicks fans than the possible bright future they have.
I don’t remember anyone all year mentioning BKN fans once as we discussed the possibilities. Why the fuq would that be a goal? If my team has a chance to be a contender with major signings in the upcoming FA, the last thing I care about is how other fans can suck it.
Give me the rings. Don’t care if everyone hates it or supports it.

Re: Offseason Thread Continued - Atlanta Got Crabbes and We're Panicking
It seems like many guys are headed somewhere else. This team (which is clearly underwhelming compared to anything I'd hope for) could be the best outcome:
Kemba
Dotson
Frank
Tobias
AD
AD is a trade that we should really be able to make. 3rd pick, DSJ, Knox + Mitch would get it done I think.
Maybe we'd think about swallowing Holiday's contract into one max slot in the process. Even more underwhelming. Kemba, Jrue, AD. Good, but oh boy.. the expectations have been higher. Would you do any of these moves?

So many opinions on our Knicks. They love using us to get clicks it’s starting to get really annoying.

If you’re assuming based on recent rumors that everyone is heading elsewhere, then you should stay consistent with the fact Kemba not coming either based on rumors. Look at the previous page.
