since 2010, the nets have the 3rd worst record overall. only minnesota & the kings have been worse.

I mean the roster is what it is. Unless those dudes show up next season and up their value I’d venture to guess that Levert, Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen and then are the better value outside of the picks.

Dolan has been a horrible owner and has done countless things wrong, but i don't see him as a huge negative factor in a free agents decision. A player like Durant will know he will be taken care of well here.

nobody thinks the nets can put together a package for ad but they do think the knicks can. that tells you who has the better assets.

And one low key thing about Dolan is he will fully support a player’s philanthropic efforts.
I think things like that matter to a Kevin Durant and I think it’ll be a huge part of what’s presented to him when we meet.

Better late than never though
We should have been in this mode since the turn of the century
No disagreement here
If anything should have been a catalyst, it should have been finally nailing a pick and landing a stud.
Welp.
Better now than never.

When has he been first to a story or even predicted something right?
I actually think he might be better as an analyst Han as a reporter based on the few times I actually heard just discuss the game

Yep. If they don’t come, it’s not because of Dolan.

If they don't land one or two max cats, Perry has the franchise extremely well-positioned to continue building a solid franchise going forwards.
At no point in the past two decades was this true and it reflects well on the franchise.
Many fans recognize this and even Dolan knows this and because of it he will be far less susceptible to shiny object syndrome and the pressure to make flashy, but pointless signings in the future.
He'll still sell the same season ticket packages and subscribers will get behind youth succeeding over time as much as FA stars coming now. That the roster rarely reflected either scenario meant fans were watching mish mash rosters for so long that either approach will be a fresh look.
So, no, Dolan will not feel any pressure to do anything based on Perry's off-season moves.
Well yeah, that's why I said "I think", and "plausible". I didn't say anything was happening.
And just because some good moves have been made doesn't mean that multiple losing seasons aren't in our future. If we go with youth again, next year will be a losing season, and the year after as well. Maybe in 3 seasons they'll begin winning, because that's how long these things take. It could be tough for a while.
Nothing wrong with that if the team is accumulating talent and managing the cap. Which I infer you are ok with, just saying that.

Agreed. And I'm not saying that somewhere out there in the vast forest (acres of weeds?) that is sports talking heads, one or two of them don't have a legit source. But, as usual, it feels like most of them are regurgitating each other's talking points, of which most are pure conjecture. Also, since apparently the vast majority of US citizens have the attention span of a flea, they all stake out every possible angle on story, so I guess they can eventually claim to be "right" at some point in the future - when no one will remember what their positions were anyway. Sad.

Sure, no guarantees are implied, but a sense of direction is and that insulates Dolan from criticism. The fan base as a whole can embrace that as long as the team building strategies don't fall back into the old patterns of squandering picks, random signings or overpaying players without leadership ability or who are injury-prone or past their prime.

I really don't think the knicks are going to an ad trade it is to much to give for ad. Also the knicks coaches been with players these past 2 month since the season has been over with, we know perry isn't a snake he is honest guy and tell the truth to the kids if he doesn't see them part of the future. Its also doesn't make sense to trade all young players if the coaches are taking the kids to the nba finals games. I honestly think what will happen if we don't get durant or irving they will make trade for an establish vet like derozan the spurs clear space, so the spurs will trade him for cash no draft picks. The knicks aren't going to continue to tank with perry, mills and fizdale they are going to be competitive not like this past year. I could also see a team like the suns trading there young players for ad and it look like this ayton, warren, number 6 pick and mikal bridges. Here the link to demar derozan on the trade block.

The sources are saying Kyrie is favored to go to the Nets. There has not been any sources about Durant going to the Nets, only the garbage on the General Board. I thought it was pretty clear that the Knicks didn't want Irving unless it got them Durant. Irving might have taken that as a slight, but that's another issue. Nets might be the only team willing to give Irving a full max and make him their #1.
But why would Kevin Durant return? Lettuce be real, it's pretty obvious:
1) He gets to return and prove to the fans that the Warriors do need him
2) More money
3) His chance of winning more championships is still greatest with staying with Golden State than any other team.
Does that really matter for his legacy? Kawhi just took a team that was a joke in the playoffs to the finals and on the brink of winning a championship. GS will always be a 73 win team and a finals champion without KD. 'no matter what he does with GS, his legacy will never reach the level of some of his peers.
THIS!
KD has proven his point, so he'd be stupid to return now. THEY NEED HIM and everybody knows it. If he goes back and loses, the "We don't need you" argument returns. Plus, it's still Steph's team. His best bet is to move on now reveling in the knowledge that he was vindicated.
Not really, although Curry is the face of Warriors' franchise.
Durant is the undisputed best/most valuable player for Warriors.
They're 8-1 with Durant in NBA-Finals, but 3-1 w/o him since 2017.

The Nets have a better roster than the Knicks top to bottom.
And they should since they've been building for years and we just started when we finally got rid of guys like Melo, J.Noah, THJ, C.Lee and others.

Draft picks are assets though so if you ask who has the better assets then you can't say outside of the picks.

Ya but if no Durant we also know hed give Kemba the max just to keep ticket holders happy. Hes still the same Dolan that told Donnie to give DEN whatever they wanted despite Donnies advice that it was too much. Nothings changed. Hes still a business man first who needs to keep ticket holders happy. Im not sure Pillls can stop him if Durant doesnt sign here. Not that Mills was any better with that THJ signing. The NY fanbase has every reason about to worry about FA and rightfully so. We haven't seen a culture change yet.
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

You asked what assets we have.
First 3 you list off the bat are top notch.
Then you list 3 Nets players as if they’re all stars.
3rd pick >>>>> LeVert (if we assuming this is RJ, RJ has a higher ceiling than LeVert & if it’s for trade bait, RJ has a relationship with Zion unlike LeVert)
Mitch - Allen (I personally side with Mitch but it’s a debate)
Mav picks > Dinwiddie (potential over an overachiever)
Then you said meh & ok to everything else but don’t meh & ok everything else the Nets have?
Interesting.
