“It’s been interesting to watch but they are a totally different team with Leonard, Gasol and Danny Green,” Casey told Talk Basket in an exclusive interview this week.“They are three experienced players who I would have given anything to have on my team. With their experience and championship pedigree, they have the experience to win.”

Casey, the 2017-18 Coach of the Year who was dismissed by the Raptors a couple days after winning the award, sees obvious parallels between the Raptors’ rise to prominence and the Milwaukee Bucks’ ascent.

“Milwaukee is going through the same thing Toronto went through the last three years. Growing pains,” Casey said.

“Winning a championship and playing for a championship is very hard to do. It takes multiple times of being there to get over that hump. Just look at the history of the league and you will see teams struggle before they win big in the playoffs.”

Typical Casey... thinking abstracts like experience is what champions are made of. It only means something if you have the skill to take advantage of it. He never had championship skill. He did well as a cog in someone else's machine but he doesn't have the capability to be an engine himself.

Apparently the Spurs are looking to move DD per ESPN

Windhorst also mentioned #4 for DD ( which is unlikely imo) but still, there are definite rumblings at this point that he may be moved

I would laugh so hard if spurs trade Derozan for draft pick

They really passed up on good offers for draft picks when they had chance

Greivis Vasquez has always been such a great ambassador of the city.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

So when the Raptors win the championship, is it only those traded at the trade deadline who will receive championship rings? How does that work? So would that mean JV, CJ Miles, Delon, Malachi Richardson all get rings?

There are no rules for giving rings.

I would imagine the team voting to give rings to JV, Wright, and Miles. Without them we wouldn't have the assets for Marc Gasol.

If Demar gets traded to the Lakers

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

I wonder if a desperate treadmill team would trade for him. Hornets? It’s really hard to be a contending team while having DD play a big role. He’s never gonna be a shooter or high IQ guy. Would be interesting to see him as a 6th man type.

The only cardinal Rule is that the Person HAD to be part of the Raptors Organization at some point during the winning season.

So JV, Wright, Miles, Malachi, Lorenzo, Monroe, Jack, Leo, Devlin, Herbie, 4 Korners, Drake, Ball Girl, Mop Girl, Dance Pak, etc CAN receive a Ring, but Derozan and Poeltl likely cant. Someone will sell one for peanuts to Nav Bhatia. Dont think he is employed.

Our goal was to get rid of the losers on this team, not re-acquire them. Keep him far away as possible.

You can't contend with DD at his current salary period. That said, teams like CHA/MIA could use him to get into the playoffs as a 6-8 seed and collect first round cheques

The rings don't really mean anything. They didn't play in a single playoff game.

Pretty sure the Dance Pak would love it to have about a $20,000 ring on all their Fingers for "free".

I was wondering if Commentators do get rings. Leo has been there since Day 1 and Devlin been here 10 years.

yeah, JV, Delon, and CJ should get rings - they played more this season than Lin and Moreland.

Leo has been giving us a ring for over 2 decades. Suffering.

You have to be a good defender now to be in the raptors rotation...the team has a new identity

Return to Toronto Raptors
