Anyone have any ideas for power forwards for 2/10? or for 2/20?

We S&T for Randle or trade for Danilo.
Ingles is cooked.

Well, at least there is something to look forward to come the first of next month. I just hope that DLo turned a corner this past year, and didn't have one of those contract years.
Do you think that the Jazz will/should still go after Tobias with their first call, or with the development with the Nets put their eggs in the DLo basket?

Why?
As I see it the Jazz either: 1) release Favors after getting Tobias; or 2) unload Bradley and release rights to the expired/NG contracts, other than Favors/Niang/Royce, and go after DLo (or chase middling free agents with the cap space). Either way, the Jazz have Favors, Crowder and Niang still.

Pretty sure we have to let Favors go if we want space for a max deal. The max space we can get with keeping Favors:
1. Waive and stretch Kyle Korver
2. Waive Raul Neto
3. Waive Georges Niang
4. Waived Royce O'Neale
5. Renounce cap hold for Ricky Rubio
6. Renounce cap hold for Thabo Sefolosha
7. Renounce cap hold for Ekpe Udoh
8. We get 22.3 in cap space. That's enough for a 4/96 contract. But Russell's max is 4/116.
------------
Max cap space we can get by waiving Favors (though it pains me):
1. Waive Derrick Favors
2. Waive and stretch Kyle Korver
3. Renounce cap hold for Ricky Rubio
4. Renounce cap hold for Thabo Sefolosha
5. We get a max contract for D'Angelo Russell 4/116.
If we bring back the rest, this is what we are looking at:
Mitchell / Neto / Exum
Russell / O'Neale / Allen
Ingles / Niang
Crowder / (4.75 MLE) / FRP
Gobert / Udoh / Bradley
Or, if we wanna sing another free agent, too:
6. Renounce cap hold for Ekpe Udoh
7. Renounce cap hold for Erik McCree
8. Renounced cap hold for Nate Wolters
That will get us another spot of 2/20 for free agent #2. That's not enough to get Mirotic. Could it land Thaddeus Young?? If you wanna keep going for even more room for a third free agent:
9. Waive Georges Niang
10. Waived Raul Neto
That will get you 3/36 for free agent #2.
Mitchell / Exum / MLE
Russell / Allen
Ingles / O'Neale /
Crowder / (3/36) / FRP
Gobert / Bradley
Add in some vet minimums and we're still spending less than last year.
So if we land Russell, then we have an 2/10 MLE power forward, or we can clear up more space for a 2/20 power forward, or we can keep clearing for a 3/36 if we wanna go heavier, but I think the first two options make more sense.
So, anyone got any ideas for a power forward at 2/10 or 2/20?

Re: Future Free Agent Thread
If I am not mistaken, it is the first year of the contract that counts against the cap, not the average- or am I wrong?
Even at that, I played on this website by unloading everyone but Favors, Niang and Royce, and even traded the draft pick (assuming we could get into top of 2nd round for it) to avoid the $2M cap hit there (which I forgot about, as well as min roster spot salaries) and it is still just short of my calculated $27.25M for 1st year of max contract.
http://www.shamsports.com/capulator?id=6675469985cfad6d1df942534879330
However, trading or waiving Niang would do it, and I think that the Jazz would keep Favors over Niang if it came to it.
Edit: Nope, even with Niang it is just short, even if only the 1st year of max contract counted as it opens another min roster spot cap hold. Crap, you're right. That $4.75 would need to be spent on a backup center or another forward.
Second Edit: If Favors and the expired contracts and two-ways are waived/relinquished, and if Korver either does us a solid and retires or is waived and stretched, doesn't that give the Jazz near MLE (roughly $9M) in cap room to sign someone before the room exception (nearly $5M)? That might be enough to get a decent backup.

Yeah, that first links lets you have 23.6 in cap space, good for a 4/101.4 contract (go to the transaction and sign a FA with space).
Yeah, your second link is basically my 2/20 option. Who do you like at that value? We'll need bigs.

^^ Maybe DeWayne Dedmon or JaMychal Green could be had for that this summer. Perhaps if necessary, waive Neto and use the room to get a backup PG, in order to free up closer to $12M?

Sorry guys but we have to waive Favors to become the team we want to be, blame DL for that stupid contract.

For starters we don't have to waive Favors, we just don't pick up his option. Those are 2 different things. And the contract wasn't stupid. It was structured very nicely and favorably.
We can easily get out of it if we need to this year or we can not lose Favors if we can't get anyone to come here. Favors probably had his best season last year, and I fail to see how his contract was stupid, or hurts the Jazz in any way, shape, or form as DL was quite smart in how he did it.
People act like there is this long list of players banging on our door to come play here, and we are telling them no thanks in favor of who we already have. We ain't getting anybody but bench role players. That's just how it is for us. It's a tough pill to swallow, but them's the breaks.

I'm kinda a Neto fan. I don't get why he doesn't get more playing time as it is. Not sure we could do better at backup point guard than him.

He has to actually be healthy to get playing time.

Re: Future Free Agent Thread
According to Tony Jones, Tobias' no.1 option is BKN. His second option is the Jazz... no idea if he has a source for that... but for whatever it's worth, here's part of his QnA:(thanks to user zyzz on jazzfanz):
Q: Do you think the jazz will be able to get Keldon Johnson in for a workout? Do they like him?
A: They like him, and have been trying to get him in
Q: I feel like Tobias number one option is Brooklyn and the jazz second do yo agree?
A: Agree. That's pretty accurate
Q: In your opinion, who will be the most likely free agent acquisition this off-season?
A: The Jazz have the best chance at Tobias Harris
Q: Do you like the jazz chances with D’Angelo Russell if he becomes an unrestricted free agent?
A: I think they have a chance. I don't think they would be favorites, but I think they would be one of the teams with a real shot at signing him
Q: Has there been a player that stood out in the workouts? you know a wow workout
A: Carsen Edwards from Purdue has gotten some buzz for his workout
Q: What do you hear on Dante? Will he be able to build his game this off-season?
A: Dante is working out and getting ready for next year. He's working towards being completely healthy for training camp
Q: Have the jazz zeroed in on a couple of drafts prospects they really like or is it too early to tell?
A: Still a bit too early to tell. No. 23 is such a wildcard spot. Also, don't be shocked if the Jazz move the pick
Q: Is Mike Connelly a realistic get for the Jazz? I feel like there was some buzz and now I'm not hearing anything now
A: It will be more difficult to match numbers than in February, but it's still a realistic trade possibility
Q: Give us one or two names that you don't think anybody has been talking about, who might be a fit for the Jazz, whether free agents or trade scenarios.
A: Tevor Ariza. Great defender and shooter who could help the Jazz a ton
Q: Do the Jazz see much value in the 53rd pick, or will they likely trade it for cash (as they have done in the past)?
A: Not sure if they like someone with 53. Hard to get a good player that deep
Q: Who some guys the jazz could target with there second round pick if they keep it
A: 53 is such a crapshoot that it's hard to pinpoint who will be there. Louis King, Weatherspoon, those are a few of the guys who may be available
Q: If the jazz strick out on tobi kemba and russ. What is the next group of FA they will look at?
A: There are a bunch of contingency's in place, some of which will be dictated by the market. The Jazz are trying to find someone who truly helps. I don't think they are looking to spend money just to say they did.
Q: Do you think Brian Bowen II would be a good second round target for the Jazz? They seem to like him. I think he could be a good developmental project for any team
A: Agree. I do, if he falls that far
Q: Is you had to rank Tobias, Russell, Kemba, Conley from most realistic to non realistic how would you rank them?
A: They are all realistic. The Jazz have a decent shot at every one of them

Apparently, Derozen is available. He's on 27.7 and a 27.7 team option. He might be worth a trade if they don't want picks.

Yeah, Rubio would have helped. And we didn't get him for 2019 playoffs, either. That should make his price lower.

2/20 for Ariza as a 4 would be great if we land Russell.

Yeah, I don't want to overpay Mirotic types.
Q: Is you had to rank Tobias, Russell, Kemba, Conley from most realistic to non realistic how would you rank them?
A: They are all realistic. The Jazz have a decent shot at every one of them
This worries me, since it is clear we don't have a shot at Kemba Walker, and we are a long shot for Tobias Harris. If Walker is what having a decent shot looks like, we're running it back

I think they need to renounce Russell in order to sign two max contracts. He has a high cap hold.

If Brooklyn is Harris first choice, Brooklyn likely ends up with Harris, Irving, and Russell. Not bad for them.
I believe the Nets can have all 3, they just have to move some very movable players like Dinwiddie.
