Most of these pictures are taken from weird angles. They exaggerate the actual height difference.

His head by itself is 7 feet tall. I’ve never seen a larger skull on a human. Look at this thing.

Yao's shoulders are pretty low and he had a short wingspan for his height. Despite being 7'5+ compared to the average NBA player he played more like he was 7'2 or so.

Yep, I agree that this does a better job of putting things into perspective.

Isaiah Thomas is average height. Chris Paul is on the taller side. Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry are tall in a way that clearly stands out in real life. Kawhi Leonard is in freakishly tall territory.

You mean Isiah Thomas right? Isaiah would stand out in any crowd for being so short.

I thought Harden is always talked about as being 6’6”? Edit - he’s listed as 6’5” on the stat pages. He’s noticeably taller than Westbrook who’s listed as 6’3” and I think that is low for Westbrook too based on seeing him in person relatively close up. Westbrook is much taller in real life than he looks on TV.

The only legitimate info we have on players' heights are from combine measurements. The NBA doesn't care about the accuracy of listed heights at all. Players more or less get to pick what they want within reason. Durant being the best example still listed at 6'9".

Actually there was an article recently stating that with sports betting being legalized in areas, the NBA was concerned about player height being accurate as they needed to be more accurate to avoid issues with gambling being legal. So the nba is actually looking into it and has a concern.

You know it's funny but WHERE you are really matters. I'm 5'11-6'0...I swear I was 6'0 back when i had hair or before back problems from lifting, but I digress. Back when i worked in banking at a large bank at their head quarters, i was honestly below average height for a guy there and if you looked at the management level, I was a few inches below average. At other jobs, I'm average to well above. It's amazing how just where you are at a given time can impact that.

now,,,take a really close look at this so'z you can visualize this. giselle is a 5'11" woman. what i was always amazed at was the sheer massiveness of lebron by comparison. not so much his height, but his deltoid is as big as her face. he could swallow her whole head. and look at the damn shoes

I can't be the only one to have heard speculation about Yao being given growth hormones as a child by some crazy state-run "make monster basketball players" program in China.

The fan in the picture is 7' 8".
As stated before, many of these pictures are being taken from extremely distorted angles.

These dudes are all giants. It’s why they make the big bucks.

Harden is 6'4 according to the NBA draft combine measurements.

Harden measured 6-5.5 in shoes. Players are almost always listed by their height in shoes so round up and you have your 6-6.
