OT: Former Red Sox David Ortiz shot in Dominican Republic

Not too long ago David ortiz was taken to the hospital after being shot. I'm a Yankees fan but respect him. Hope hes ok.

Reports are saying a burglary attempt, but that's contrary to what locals are saying , I just saw the surveillance video.. Seems like the dude tried to rob Ortiz while at a club/bar. Also word is he got shot around his torso.

Jeez. I never liked him as a player, but hope he is ok. You'd think a walking legend like Ortiz would be respected and unharmed by all in his homeland. Things in the Dominican Republic must be bad.

Especially because he seems to be a generally nice guy, and not out looking for trouble. Sounds like he was just targeted by some bonehead.

I saw it. I didn't think it was that bad, considering he shot one of the biggest baseball legends in his homeland.

I'm not sure if we watched the same video. But to me, it looked weird lol. The dude kept putting water over his face or something?

He took a few kicks and punches, but nothing bad, imo.

Im waiting for the results of the toxicology tests...two people dying like that , at the same time..shady.

So just found out it was a guy paid a corrupt DR cop to shoot at Ortiz for clapping his shorty. Smh. Basically this all happened because of infidelity.
